Yes folks more examples of the marvels of head-in-the-sand multiculturalism have come to light in the Netherlands. Seemingly a ghetto in the capital has become a no-go area where Sharia law prevails. So bad has it got that the Dutch Parliament is to get a report on it.

Dutch anxiety over

I have been pointing out the trouble with mass Islamic immigration and regularly get called an Islamophobe, racist etc but I will keep highlighting the issue, as should others, until this country is not making the same mistake as others have made by allowing mass immigration from third world countries whose culture is very different from our and by ensuring ghettos don't develop in our city.

Note the IT sticks in the sly "right wing " tag for Wilders but doesn't call the Social Affairs minister "left wing". Mind even the IT is slowly coming around to the fact that Wilders has a point when they have dropped the "far right" sobriquet. Progress of sorts.

No EU State is as suitable as Ireland for establishing a new "Sharia Law State"

Ireland has it all!

Soft immigration laws.
Good welfare rates.
Easy public housing.
Very small population.
English language.
Very welcoming Dublin 4 liberalism.

The fact that the authorities have more or less abandoned the area to 'self-regulation' by the Islamic community is quite worrying. As an aside, I wouldn't hold out much hope for reality hitting ITimes anytime soon. Wilders is referred to a 'far right' politician in the photo caption.

The Islamic fundamentalists are just taking a leaf from the Vaticans strategic handbook which politically always viewed catholic Ireland as a tool to be used in the conversion of protestant England

The Hague is not the capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. The Hague is merely the seat of government.

The Irish Times has also misreported the situation in my mind. The situation in the Schilderswijk was initially reported by the Dutch newspaper "Trouw", upon which subsequent reporting has also been based in the Netherlands (largely anyway), this newspaper reported that it is not the whole district (as the Irish Times might lead you to believe), but that it is a relatively small area of the Schilderswijk where this is happening, also known as the "Forgotten Triangle" because it was "forgotten" during one or multiple renovation(s) in the Hague.

The Irish Times also reports that the police has largely ignored the Schilderswijk on the grounds that it is "self-regulating". First off we should again note that the Irish Times is mistaken when it speaks of the entire Schilderswijk, but should only speak of a small area in the Schilderswijk. Secondly Trouw never noted the claim that the police was ignoring the Schilderswijk, much the opposite was reported. Trouw reported that police had been told to leave because the residents would take care of the business themselves, police, however did not leave in such instances according to the interviews on which Trouw's report is based. These interviewees did note that they feared that police might one day leave when told to.

As such the police, and the prime minister, have noted that the police is still active in that area of the Schilderswijk.

So the IT report is a load of auld cobblers? Shocking that from the paper 'of record' and all things morally 'superior'!

I can almost visualise the nasty smirk on your face.

There's a lot more ordinary people outside of Dublin 4, and we like our alcohol, music, rashers, sausages, free speech, and we wouldn't take too kindly to medieval, barbarbaric, mysogynistic, arrogant loons telling us what we should or shouldn't do.

Neither do we take kindly to parasites who are here for what they can get free and have nothing to offer in return.

Best of luck with that.

In a way it is, however there is a core of truth to it, but not on the points I mentioned. It's an area of the Schilderswijk, not the entire Schilderswijk and the police is still active there. That said, that area does have a majority of muslims, quite a few of them orthodox (the latter are causing the problem). There are reports of residents who do address people on the street when they don't adhere to orthodox Islamic practice (such as unveiled women).

That's enough to worry someone, though, innit?

You have no choice.

The Irish govt introduced already blasphemy laws to appease these people.

Further anti discrimination laws are in the pipeline.

Why dont you do something about the Islamic schools in Dublin ,funded by the Irish taxpayer, where young children are taught that the infidel [any non moslem] is of less value than a dog?

Ok, so just sloppy and lazy misreporting then. Not a first in Ireland in that, I suppose but from the paper of 'record', I am indeed shocked.

It's a worrisome development, but there's a big difference between what is happening and what the Irish Times is reporting.
There has always been a big difference between what is happening and what the Irish Times is reporting.

The IT always mitigates and dilutes reports on Islamic misbehaviour in order to appear multiculturally neutral.

Sounds very defeatist for you.

I'm well aware of minister ahern's blasphemy law.

Do you temper your words and views to comply with it?
I know I don't.

What are the further laws?

What would you suggest I do about the Islamic schools?

The reporting of the story isn't the story.

The OP is right - we have a huge advantage over countries such as the UK, Holland and France in that immigration on any meaningful level commenced here just fifteen years ago.

I have nothing against people coming here seeking a better life - this country is much better for their presence - but immigrants must comply with our laws and respect our traditions. Repeated non-compliance with the law should mean a revocation of their residence permits.
