Seems this is to apply across the board to all areas where any states funds are used. It only applies where women are low in numbers.

They envision a massive change in social context within 5 years, quite optimistic. Certainly a brave and welcome move on behalf the E.U.

Details in the link below.
Gender balance in decision-making positions - European Commission

It's to also cover candidates that are fielded by political parties in elections, increasing the current Irish quota from 40% - to a fantastic 70%.

So the next election will have far more women on your ballot paper than men. You'll be so spoilt for choice.

:);)

It will be great to see women take on more street sweeping duties, more places in state-run heavy industry and manual labour.

Will this directive seek to address the gender imbalance in nursing, childcare and education?

No, It's focus is solely on increasing the numbers of women, about time too. It aims to tackle areas like engineering etc.

Women aren't afraid or unable for manual duty, we do it all the time.

The sisters can not make the grade and now resort to official bullying.

Is it not time for women to accept that some jobs are not meant for them and they should stay away.

One only has to look at An Garda Siochana in Ireland to understand that promoting/hiring females on the basis of gender alone is a very very bad idea.

So, why aren't we see an increase in the number of female miners, refuse collectors, and street cleaners?

Anyone else getting a bit fed up funding pampered, privileged "minorities"?

Even women must be getting sick of it.

Do you think it more important to have a gender balance in Engineering as it is say in teaching etc?

You will in the services funded by the State. This will change the landscape in fields where men dominate. So welcome.

More bullying nonsense.

Your and the EUs insane worldview based on the absurd notion of absolute gender equality is destroying economic life and sending the world backwards.

Shame on you the way you subvert the states laws to impose your ugly and insane agenda.

More nonsense.

Your and the EUs insane worldview based on the absurd notion of complete gender equality is destroying economic life and sending the world backwards.
But you'll appreciate the 50/50 landscape FM when it's complete and we have taken over the world precious. Only it'll be more 80/20. Women do a better job, just move over. You'll be happier, I promise.

I am sure some are , but there are also some women who would get nowhere without gender quota's or special treatment , these are normally the type who are all in favour of it.

It will be nice to see the tea ladies in GAA clubs across the country being promoted to chair of their club, and the ould lads washing the jerseys and making the tea.
