Tonight on RTE1 at 21.30.

The first of a two part documentary series exploring the life and leadership of Enda Kenny. A TD at 24 and more than forty years a TD, whatever your opinion of Enda, even I gotta hand it to him, he's still there, Taoiseach of Ireland, despite the very many "bumps" on the road.

Should be fun.

Watching the rise of a great leader? You jest wombat. (I won't see it myself so am hoping the good people of P.ie will contribute their witty observations).

Kenny is living testimony to the superiority of political pragmatism over leadership.
Kenny quietly detached his lips from the nether regions of his old masters, and sought new powers that might give us a break if he approaches them with sufficient humility and the charmin' old grin.
He may be Taoiseach, but he's no leader.

Usually you get these things after one's tenure as Taoiseach - does RTE know something we dont?
The programme should be renamed - Enda Kenny - Merkel's b**ch!

Ah now. Give him and the programme a chance. There's way too much disenchantment about.

I can just imagine Enda sitting down to watch it, but the rest of his family demanding to switch to a Sky Movies Gold flick instead.
His eldest daughter Aoibhinn may be secretly hoping he quits politics so that she can "inherit" the family seat in Mayo.

Therein lies the problem ... too much nepotism, lack of professionalism

Jaysus, that's a lot of air time dedicated to the life and times of a plank of wood. Perhaps broadcasting time better spent showing Pinocchio instead? All the little boys of FG smoking cigars and turning in to Donkeys seems an apt metaphor. And of course Brendan Howlin is the perfect Jiminy Cricket

Why are they showing that on Hallowe'en night? Show us a decent horror movie FFS. And for those in RTE with no imagination, there's even a horror classic called Hallowe'en, so you don't need to be Einstein to work out what to show on Hallowe'en night.

Numpties.

Ah here, have you no appreciation of the Machiavellian machinations at work? Maybe its an historic piece, for Richard Bruton, or maybe a scare at bedtime for young Simon, Leo or Simon the even younger?
The man has been underestimated before.
