I think this deserves its own thread .. a bolt from the blue ..

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/josh-rogin/wp/2017/01/26/the-state-departments-entire-senior-management-team-just-resigned/

The entire senior level of management officials resigned Wednesday, part of an ongoing mass exodus of senior foreign service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era.

Kennedy and three of his top officials resigned unexpectedly, four State Department officials confirmed. Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Anne Barr, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Michele Bond and Ambassador Gentry O. Smith, director of the Office of Foreign Missions, followed him out the door. All are career foreign service officers who have served under both Republican and Democratic administrations.
The resistence begins within the civil service??

Apparently the biggest en masse resignation ever ..

It is serious.

It is welcome news however because the State Department allowed itself to become politicised under Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Yes. It was never politicized. Ever.

This is the swamp being drained. Jumped before they were pushed and a clean slate for Tillerson. Great stuff.

Incredible.
Herr Drumpf has just got off of Hairforce Einz in Philly.
Imagine being the staffer delivering him the news as he waxed lyrical that his (ex Mexican owned) single aisle Boeing was actually bigger than AF1? Whilst drinking Diet Coke.

A clear vote against the lunacy of his rhetoric and his behaviour at Langley on Saturday.

Trump will be delighted. Presumably their replacements will be more in line with his thinking.
Oh yea, isn't that going to be great...

As usual - you haven't the slightest comprehension of what 'Left' means in a political context.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiocracy

Idiocracy is a 2006 American satirical science fiction comedy film directed by Mike Judge and starring Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph, and Dax Shepard. The film tells the story of two people who take part in a top-secret military human hibernation experiment, only to awaken 500 years later in a dystopian society where advertising, commercialism, and cultural anti-intellectualism have run rampant, and is devoid of intellectual curiosity, social responsibility, and coherent notions of justice and human rights.

The film was not screened for critics and distributor 20th Century Fox was accused of abandoning the film. Despite its lack of a major theatrical release, which resulted in a mere $495,303 box office, the film received generally positive reviews from critics and has become a cult film.[2]

Its like the movie, but without the time travel!

No.

It may well get us all killed.

But I doubt Trump is crying into his beer right now...
