From the IT. Eoin O'Broin of SF says Ireland should 'practice what it preaches' on undocumented immigrants and regularise them.

Ireland should do what the Government wants the US to do and implement a process to regularise the status of undocumented migrants.

Sinn Féin spokesman on housing Eoin Ó Broin TD said Ministers and politicians had gone to the United States asking the president to find a system for regularising undocumented Irish migrants in the US.

He said there were 126,000 undocumented migrants in the Republic. “We need to practise what we preach” and “we should do here what we want the US to do – have a process to regularise their status.”

Mr Ó Broin was speaking during a debate in which the Opposition called for an end to the direct provision system in which the State, through private operators, provides accommodation, food, medical services and a small stipend to 4,500 asylum seekers. They are not allowed to work.

When will many of Sinn Fein's working class voters cope on and realise that SF's support for Mass Immigration is against their personal interests?

Or, we could stop preaching to the Americans about controlling their own borders.

SF and the rest of the rabble on the Left just doing what Labour did in the UK. Bring in as many non-nationals as you can into the country, legal or illegal it desn't matter. Then 'fight' for their rights to become citizens.
Then watch the votes roll in....see how that worked for Labour in the UK!!!

The Left know they'll never get critical mass in ireland with Paddy and Brigid in the majority. So they'll do anything to change that and if that means turning Ireland into a 3rd world 5hithole, it's a price they're only too happy to pay

SF voters vote first and foremost based on the national question , everything else is window dressing

agree with you about SF being open borders advocates

Many of their voters in the 2016 election would not have touched the party in 2007 or even 2011. A lot of their post 2007 vote is a protest vote because of the recession.

There was an opinion poll in the Irish Times a couple of years ago which showed that SF voters were the most hostile to allowing in economic migrants from Africa.

FG, FF and Labour are turning parts of Ireland already into 3rd World Crapholes thanks to support Mass Immigration although in fairness to FG and FF at least they called for a Yes vote in the 2004 citizenship referendum.

If the Shinners had gotten their way along with Labour and the Trots in the citizenship referendum, we'd probably still be having 10,000+ asylum applications annually.

There was some gob************************e the other night who started a thread that we should join Schengen because his brother was inconvenienced at some foreign airport, make no mistake if we joined Schengen now/after brexit the no.s turning up at the asylum application centre would rocket, so much so they would have to run extra ferries from France.

Proper functioning countries learn from the mistakes of others, they don't go on to make the same ones 10 years later.....

Irish in America are all working and contributing to the American economy - they are also highly educated and skilled - they also share many of the values and customs of their host nation.

We on the other hand are being asked to open our doors to the masses from Africa / middle east and Asia. Most from 'Islamic countries' and most poorly educated. These would be a massive burden on the state and also pose a security threat. You'd want to be bonkers to subject your country to this -

F c u k off Sinn Fein - useless bunch of morans

This seems to be the latest cause celebre for the left - Morning Ireland had an item on it last week I think. Sure why bother with rules at all if we can just cast them aside every so often and have an amnesty? It worked so well with taxes - remember? (by the way, I agree with O Broin that the same logic should apply to the illegal Irish in the US).

However, Eoin the Righteous must be relieved to have another PC bandwagon to jump on, given the lack of traction acquired by the Halawa Express. SF would need to be careful with this one - popular feeling would not be on their side, and it would reinforce their image as a far-left party more concerned with fringe issues than the everyday concerns of Middle Ireland voters.
