Using taxpayers money to promote the EU.
This is nothing but gimmick politics and propaganda. Brexit got their backs up and they are in full war-footing.

Bad idea. Will not benefit marginalised young people and will cost money that could otherwise be used to benefit marginalised young people.
It might benefit non marginalised young people who can't afford it. Its like the idea that we shouldn't give extra resources to help exceptionally gifted children.

The sprogs from wealthier families will be in much more prime position to use it as they will be able to afford the non transport aspect of the holiday vastly more easily!
I think there is something in Canada, where the Government pays a bond for each new born Canadian and then when that person is 18, they get all that accrued interest and principal, now there's an even better idea!

AFAIK The Families of the workers in CIE, benefit from this at international and national level already and it's ongoing not just a once off and in that case is beyond fooking absurd! Imagine if you work as a shelf stacker, your spouse and children being entitled to free stuff in the shop where you work, whenever they wish and on top of that at any store in Europe, anybody even suggesting it would be locked up in a psychiatric health facility!

Should we (the taxpayer) give extra resources to help exceptionally gifted (non-marginalised) children? I don't understand why we should do that.

Nice.. that more than makes up for them forcing us to pay for all those unsecured bondholders.

Some time after never.
Wel Edna has told us no matter what we will never leave - No wonder his betters love him, it's analoguos to a severely battered spouse telling her/his abuser no matter what I will stand by you always and actually doing so despite assault after assault!

Probably true.
The big nations will leave first, then it will be Ireland and basketcases like Romania and Bulgaria......then there'll be no money for gimmicks like the O.P and it will collapse

So does the national rail company take on the cost? If so great deal for Ireland since next to nobody will use it to come here since our railways are entirely isolated from the rest of the EU and entirely isolated from our own airports. Win win for Irish 18year olds.

Sure. Its exactly like that. Nothing to do with the 40% of our exports we sell to the EU (excluding UK).

I'm sure the big countries will leave right after Wilders becomes Dutch PM.

Glad you accept that this is nothing but marketing for the EU.
And we pick up the tab.
It may be a factor in some British Youth advocating for them to go back in about 5 years, if things go pear shaped at all and that's more possible than not, after all The Raj is long gone!
