It seems the row about the Russian entry has come to a head. Channel one in Russia which broadcasts the final and the semi finals won't now be broadcasting the show. The Russian entrant Julia Samilova won't be there as she performed in Crimea in 2014 and entered the territory without a valid visa.
These things are important to the powers that be in Kiev so there's no show from Russia. Ukraine has subsequently been accused of politicising the Eurovision.

How will these events affect the block vote or as you and I better know it as the buying of the Eurovision by the guys who splash the cash? An extra place on the final night goes a begging for those who like Ireland don't go immediately into the final.

Julia Samilova didn't need to have a visa to visit Crimea. Ukraine bans Russian artists who have visited Crimea from entering the country. What is more interesting and in my opinion isn't fair is that Julia has been banned entering Ukraine only when she became the Russian entrant, although she visited the peninsula 2-3 years ago.
