What's the story with people dragging Clinton into the equation when assessing Trumps performance as president.

Its like the way a lot of people express their 'love' for a football team (largely through their hatred of another team).

Its childish and immature.

President Donald Trump collected at least $100 million from Russian people or organizations between 2008 and this March, according to a personal letter from his tax counsels that he released Friday in response to a senator’s unofficial query

The reason why Trump wont release his tax returns, unlike any other recent President (Bill Clinton put 38 years worth online!) is not because as air heads said it would reveal him to be less wealthy than he claimed and embarrass him but because any accountant would say - Oh dear.

FINCEN has requested all tax documents pertaining to Trump family and associates under warrant.

I will remind you all, Al Capone. This is why Trump hates the FBI.

And another note - one reason why the FBI nowadays cannot be compared to the Hoover regime, as many Trump fan boys are claiming, is because they have been so painfully careful to go by the book. That does not result in major splashes on twitter every five minutes. It does however guarantee a cast-iron case.

It can be summed up as "corrupt as f*cuk".

Trump would of course be drawn to Russian oligarchs, and not simply because they were a source of ready money which he couldnt acquire through more legal channels.

Im amused by Putin-lovers on here, who think the Russian Federation still has the aura of the Old Internationale. Whatever your views on that might be. It was romantic, anyway.

Russia is a kleptocratic, oppressive, petro-state, run by a man who is rich beyond Donalds dreams. Of course he would adore Putin petunia
the Russian people have been stripped to the bone.

Im not sure that the Donald actually understands who he's mixed up with. Hes impressed by the thuggish glamour.

I am absolutely sure you are right.

I dont believe he knows what he is doing or where he is, which is why I dont bracket him with Nixon. Tricky Dickie was a genuine control freak, who commanded real loyalty, had immense talents (misused) and was not interested for one moment in flash and gab. In fact, that was one of his major "issues" - how come the Kennedys get away with "stuff" because they are just so .... good-looking and charming and well-dressed? :D

Trump is a symptom not a cause. We have a moment here to think, well what has US come to, when this ..... thing is President?

"Although few projects were built, Sater worked on hotel and condominium deals with the Trump Organization through 2010 in New York, Florida, Arizona, London, Moscow and elsewhere even as he secretly helped the FBI infiltrate and take down organized crime figures, according to court records."

What the libtards call "working with the mob". For more of the whole story, courtesy of the Los Angeles Time:

"In 1998, Sater pleaded guilty to a federal charge of racketeering for his role in a Mafia-linked $40-million stock fraud scheme. He quickly cut a deal, agreeing to become a secret FBI informant in hopes of getting a lenient sentence.

Court records were sealed to protect Sater’s identity, so his role in the fraud case stayed secret for a decade while he was at Bayrock. After a court hearing in 2009, he was fined $25,000 but was not sent to prison or ordered to pay restitution.

At his sentencing hearing, several FBI officials vouched for Sater’s help. He got his biggest endorsement in January 2015 when Loretta Lynch was asked at her Senate confirmation hearing for U.S. attorney general why court records had been sealed in the fraud case.

Sater had secretly worked with federal prosecutors and the FBI for more than 10 years, “providing information crucial to national security and the conviction of over 20 individuals, including those responsible for committing massive financial fraud and members of La Cosa Nostra” — the Mafia — according to Lynch, who had served as U.S. attorney in the Eastern District in New York."
***
During his years as an informant, Sater sometimes confided in his rabbi — who thought he was making up his exploits.

“I thought perhaps he had watched too many James Bond movies and read one too many Tom Clancy novels,” Rabbi Shalom M. Paltiel said in a 2014 speech naming Sater “man of the year” for his service to his Chabad congregation on Long Island.

Paltiel said Sater then invited him to a secret thank-you ceremony at a federal building in New York.

“To my amazement I see dozens of U.S. intelligence officers, from all the various three-letter intelligence agencies of this country, including some I had never even known existed,” Paltiel said in a video posted by Sater. Their accounts were “more fantastic and more unbelievable than anything he’d been telling me.”"

What was the significance of the senators all being bussed down to the White House to hear about N. Korea?

I am still waiting for that documentary about Trump and Russian Prostitutes..
Me too. That story came from one of Trump's close associates Stateside, not Russian. Steele simply confirmed it with Russian sources.

If you ve watched the documentary, you will know it discusses Bayrock, a real estate project allegedly used to wash oligarch money by Sater and Trump.

Forbes media (the business press) has now filed a court order to obtain details of Saters criminal conviction for money laundering and the nature of Trumps plea which allowed him to escape with a 10 million dollar fine.

The Senate is also investigating the sealed Court file.

The web connecting the Trump administration to Russia

From Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to former campaign director Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump's allies have business and personal connections to Russia. As Congress and the FBI look into Russia's involvement with the 2016 election, those connections are increasingly under a microscope.

This has been around for some time. Whats interesting is now the MSM has "gone critical" on the allegations, plus the fact that the conversation has moved on from "intelligence" to "prosecution."
