I have a vague memory of using your DNS for something once upon a time?

But anyway, the fb page comes up but the login throws up this msg.

"Facebook Will Be Back Soon
Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes. In the meantime, read more about why you're seeing this message. Thanks for your patience as we improve the site."

No problems with it here. Just checked the login page in incognito mode and it is still there. FB said it wasn't a DDoS issue. Might be a routing issue. The IP address on the www lookup looks to be an ES one (31.13.83.36).

Seeing different timestamps for the SOA across some ISP nameservers. The one on the DNS seems to be a later/more recent timestamp.

Did you try using the Google nameservers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)?
Maybe in the morning. Need lots of Zzzzzzzs right about now.

The problem should be cleared by then hopefully. :) It might be a long night otherwise.

When I try to log in to Facebook, I get the "scheduled maintenance, back in a few minutes" message, even though Facebook has been down since around 4 this afternoon.

Why have the whizz-kids at Facebook failed to resolve the issue by now? They're supposed to be intelligent people!

Not intelligent enough it seems.

I have another two weeks to serve on a months ban on Facebook- I usually get back on for a week or two then get another months ban- this has been going on for a good while now- each time I am told that the next ban will be three months and then after that I will be terminated but I just get a months ban like clockwork-

Two weeks ago there was a story about the UFFs Michael Stone on the Irish news Facebook and I commented that he should have been dropped like a stone- that’s what you get a months ban for-

Interesting. Just checked from Germany and the IP address for www.facebook.com was on Facebook's Irish range. Checking from Ireland on one network gets the Spanish (ES) IP address. Checking from an Irish ISP (Eir) gets the Spanish IP.

I've been getting this here result whenever I try to login to fb.

It seems that it is global, starting in the UK.

Facebook And Instagram Suffer Widespread Global Outage

Does anyone (JMCC?) have updates on WTF is happening?

You must be a conservative.
