From The Irish Examiner...

Retailers back right to sell

"Vincent Jennings, of the Convenience Stores and Newsagents Association, responding to a letter from 11 lawyers in Britain to The Guardian newspaper calling for high-street retailers to “immediately withdraw lads’ mags and papers featuring pornographic front covers from their stores”.

The "porn" they refer to is the cover pics of mags such as Zoo and Nuts.

These feminists want to bring a test case against some poor newsagents to see if they can get these mags censored from the public.

"The lawyers had claimed: “Such exposure is actionable where it violates the dignity of individual employees or customers, or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for them.”

Is this a step too far or should all people on magazine covers be fully clothed and be positioned in a non suggestive position (including pictures of men)?

Or is this just another faux outrage at something that's not hurting anyone. I mean these mags are not even as suggestive as Playboy, let alone the more nasty stuff you can find for free online!

IMO, these feminists groups cause a lot more harm than good, and if they want to do good on behalf of others then they should not be so sexist and stop excluding males from the people they want to help.
In fact all the "help" they give to women is negated by their sexist vicious attacks on males.

Thoughts?....

'Men' who 'read' these 'magazines' need to get out more.

I think I've just exhausted my quotation marks quota for the week (oops).

The content is terrible in them! No argument there :)

But to threaten legal action against shopkeepers for selling them?
