A consistent theme in the couple of days since the murderous attacks on the Manchester Arena has been that the American media is ahead of the British in the release of information.

Within a couple of hours of the bombing, one US network was able to accurately and confidently announce the death toll, hours before British officials confirmed it. Equally, the name of the bomber was leaked by US sources before Manchester police or Downing Street had the chance to - a leak that potentially warned the bomber's associates, giving them time to escape.

In the latest incident (this came hours after furious British diplomats protested to Washington), the New York Times published photographs of the bomber and his rucksack.

Of course, we're all familiar with Trump's extraordinary behaviour when he leaked classified intelligence to Russia. Actually, it wasn't a leak since that implies some subterfuge: he just told them.

So, it's hardly a surprise that Washington is leaking like a colander when the Commander-in-Chief is so careless.

Incompetent British security services trying to distract from their own incompetence.

Sad these leaks are occurring, don't know if they are caused by Don "Capone" Trump but hopefully they help the building of his political coffin.

POTUS Trump has been complaining about these leaks for a number of weeks so to try and blame this on him is a joke.

US security services have been leaking against Trump, particularly after he fired FBI nutjob Comey.

Pity he felt that "do as I say not as I do" might work for him when most people know that it never does.
For the most obvious reasons.
