Story in the ST today which should make your blood boil.

Denise Charlton the former CEO of the Immigrant Council and well known Social Justice campaigner has joined Pat Kenny and other residents of their exclusive Dalkey enclave in opposing plans to develop apartments and housing in the area.

The reason? It would result 'in the devaluation of adjacent properties'.

Her father had famously been involved in a 'boundary dispute' with PK but now she's joined forces with the broadcaster in opposing something that would devalue their properties.

Social Justice warrior involved in blatant nimbyism. Add this to Aodhan O'Riordain in the list of SJW hypocrites.

I think the only fair way to solve this matter is to install a large halting site. Surely none of them would object to our own oppressed ethnic minority being housed in their neighbourhood?
Absolutely. Dalkey needs more cultural enrichment.

So it's okay to be make a living from forcing immigrants on everyone else as long as the homes they very obviously need don't devalue your own property...FFS, the Irish establishment is a joke.

The blatant hypocrisy should be enough to have people out on the streets. O'Riordain another nimby hypocrite who preaches right-on dogma but opposes housing developments that would devalue the properties of his constituents.

You have to be the right sort of immigrant to live in those areas. Illiterate brown/black people nope not a chance, highly paid professional from a country that has a caste system that considers the poor to be disgusting ''untouchables'' absolutely welcome.

It is ......

But the ones to actually blame are the gormless brainless morons who keep supporting the status quo despite being disadvantaged by it and are staggeringly oblivious to the connection between............. our 3rd world and crap healthcare ,vulture fund and landlord inspired homelessness , why they or their children cant afford a house , ,why we have sh!t public transport , brutal roads , crap infrastructure , and what they read daily about endemic incompetence and corruption and seem happy to not just watch , butr aid and abet a golden elite making out like bandits ....and the way they vote and their unquestioning lifelong support for either Fg FF or Lab ......

And who make up about 70% of the contributors to P.ie

Thats who to blame !

The thing about Charlton and Kenny's objections to the development is that it is because the new apartments and houses would devalue their properties but could you imagine if it was something like locating asylum accomodation like poor old Rooskey Co Roscommon got this week?

Kenny and Charlton would be out with the can of petrol and matches.

These people are literally shítting on our heads brazenly and openly.

Nobody cares about this little village in Roscommon, so dump them all there but by jaysus don't you even think about putting them where the chattering classes live.

You have to remember , those most vocal about massive movements of population are those least likely to ever be effected by it......

How many Poles or Nigerians (above the level of cleaner) in the Dail ? The Law Library ? RTE ? The Irish times ? The civil service ? College Professors ? ISME ? The State Quango circuit ?

How many will live in the leafy middle class suburbs ?

Easy to be very liberal with other peoples lives but Ireland is the ultimate example of where, do what i say not what i do, is so hypocritically practiced

Why do they say the new houses and apartments will devalue their property?

Sites in Dalkey would not be cheap. The properties will have to be built to modern building standards. They will be expensive. The unwashed will not be moving in. They will be bought or rented by well paid professionals.

So what is the problem?

or is the building for social housing? if it is, then Kenny, Charleton & Co will have a local supply of cleaners, childminders and odd job men.

it is not the value of their property they are concerned about really, altho they always care about money
its having to mix with riff raff whether white black yellow or pink
they are like scientists looking down on a glass doom in a lab at the creatures inside and deciding whats best for them
as long as they stay in the glass doom
so much for the glass ceiling

The ST have been doing some good journalism recently on the propensity of the Irish elites for taking a dump on everyone else.

Another good article on Claire Byrne doing nixers at private events and getting paid whopping amounts of money. And then being disgusted when FOI requests reveal the amounts paid.

Clear conflict of interest since she works for national broadcaster but when did that ever matter in Paddy land.

Also a must-read piece on Limerick Hospital hiring a Nigerian doctor who quite literally didn't know what he was doing for it's obstetrics division.

I criticise the media but this is good public service journalism.

It's because they don't want any social housing in their neighbourhood. All new builds come with a certain percentage having to be for social housing. They don't want hordes of African lads running amok terrorising their neck of the woods. That's strictly for the plebs in other areas. Look at what happened the other week in Foxrock, years the neighbours were putting up with Africans renting rooms in a house in the cul de sac, a party house drug den with Christ knows who from the arse end of Africa, can't be having more of that near them.

Halting Sites are usually low Rise . There is a marriage to be made in heaven here .
Indeed Dalkey and then there are the list of Presidential candidates who said they would have no objection to a halting site next door, that offer should be taken up.
