Sure Fox seeks to cater to Conservatives, but their unquestioning loyalty to Trump is of concern

Sean Hannity is astonishingly close to Trump
WaPo - Hannity’s rising role in Trump’s world: ‘He basically has a desk in the place’
The phone calls between President Trump and Sean Hannity come early in the morning or late at night, after the Fox News host goes off the air. They discuss ideas for Hannity’s show, Trump’s frustration with the ongoing special counsel probe and even, at times, what the president should tweet, according to people familiar with the conversations. When he’s off the phone, Trump is known to cite Hannity when he talks with White House advisers.
Hannity also pushed the Seth Rich conspiracy, which was known to be started by Russian Intelligence, and Hannity had contact with Russkies on it

Hannity's former director of news is an actual Kremlin propagandist
A former director for Sean Hannity left Fox News to build a pro-Kremlin propaganda network in Russia

Fox censors its broadcasts in the Baltics according to Kremlin guidelines
Baltic translations for Fox TV undergo Russian censorship

Is Fox a news or propaganda outlet ?

Are they with Trump, the Kremlin or both ?

I like Fox but can only watch it online since they aren't on Sky anymore. Those who think it's State TV haven't seen Shepard Smith's show. He is virulently anti Trump.

What Fox does for Trump is exactly the same as what Murdoch and the Mail have done for the far right Tories, for decades.

That is why we have the bizarre spectacle of a Tory party, worryingly in hock to the Russian chums of Putin, able to pose as "standing up to Russia" and nobody laughs.

Actually Tucker Carlson gave an commentary the other night that amounts to a stern criticism of Trump and the Neo-Cons.

So that proves the OP is more grounded on lazy assumptions rather than in actual evidence.

Here is persistent Fox critic Cenk praising Carlson for being far more honest than liberal stations like MSNBC and CNN.....

Murdoch and Putin are very similar.

Both are billionaires. Both are amoral and apolitical. Both push the agenda that they perceive will benefit them. Both have promoted Islamophobia and nationalism for political purposes. Both helped elect Trump.

Both use their control of media to engage in bullying and threats of smears to manipulate people. Both use hacking to get information with which to smear enemies.

The Russian election plot was simply an extension of the same techniques Murdoch has always used. Birds of a feather...

Also Shepard Smith is also constantly attacking Trump on certain issues.

They are far more balanced that what you would get on MSNBC or CNN where not to be ferociously Anti Trump is a sackable offence , they both(and others) vie for and trade on been the No 1 anti Trump media in the US etc.

I get the sense that on FOX, people are less scrippted, and less controlled like puppets, than on CNN (which is jsut desperate ) or MSNBC (which behaves as of the two parties are really two halves on one war loving, borrowing, corporatist monstor).

And then there is the fact that FOX ran with the documentary that the DOBlin media deliberately ignore.....

Fox, like all outlets, have sensible and unstable presenters/staff. Watters, Gutfeld, Ingraham, Carlson and Hannity are rabid supporters of Mr Spanky. Guilfoyle and Brier less so and Williams, Smith and Kurtz are relatively balanced. Only the brainwashed take Hannity, Watters and Ingraham seriously, they are preaching to the converted/demented. They are entertainment more than news/reporters

The real story is the ongoing collapse of CNN. When you have partisan biased reporting, it seems the negative approach comes off worse. There are moves in the US now to remove CNN from public screens in banks fro example and replace with Bloomberg. People are getting tired of the endless negative reporting.

All the Murdoch outlets, which include more than Fox, have taken a uniform view w/r/t the Mueller probe.

https://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/30/murdoch-fox-mueller-trump-244333

Fox is just more conspicuous in blurring the lines between reporting and opinion. That is putting it mildly - Hannity has been the unofficial spokesman for the White House.

Having said that Fox couldn't exist in its current form if it didn't have a credulous audience of semi-literate mouthbreathers. And there appear to be millions of them.

To float your plague ship, you need:

1. Politicians with a knack for ignorant, simplistic, hate-filled demogoguery (Trump; Farage; DUP, many Tories and GOP ; Erdogan; Orbán; Putin; a sadly lengthening list of vile little opportunists);
2. A section of the media willing to sink to the very depths of bigotry, lies and more hatred (Fox; Daily Mail); and
3. An audience of willing imbeciles, who actually rather like those messages telling them that their problems and failures are all someone else's fault and that they should hate and blame those Other people, who happen to be brown/speak funny/work harder ...
