Full on Trump: Farage faces legal action after bizarre rant

O

Oscurito

We are familiar to the point of boredom with a certain right-wing president-elect being baited on Twitter into saying things that could be most kindly described as "injudicious". Donald Trump's social media meltdowns are already the stuff of legend. Now, it seems that his confidant, Nigel Farage has taken a leaf out of his book.

It began with a comment about the Berlin Christmas market attack which seemed, at the very least, to be based on some unproven assumptions. Brendan Cox, the widower of the murdered MP, Jo Cox responded and the response can be seen below.

Donald Trump proved himself to be no respecter of the bereaved and nor is Farage. As riled by Brendan Cox's tweet as Trump would be, Farage lashed out in a radio interview, accusing Brendan Cox of having links to extremists saying, "Well, of course, he would know more about extremists than me, Mr Cox. He backs organisations like Hope Not Hate, who masquerade as being lovely and peaceful, but actually pursue violent and undemocratic means."

It's unclear what Farage is referring to. The Hope Not Hate group describes itself as an advocacy group that "campaigns to counter racism and fascism". The connection to Jo Cox is that Brendan had chosen Hope Not Hate as one of three beneficiaries of her memorial fund.

As of this evening, Hope Not Hate is demanding that Farage retract his comments and apologize or he will face legal action. To this effect, they have set up a crowd-funding campaign on their website to raise the money for the case.

Someone is going to have to climb down.

The Guardian: Nigel Farage accuses Jo Cox's widower of supporting extremism

CAN WE KEEP DISCUSSION IN THIS THREAD TO THE ROW BETWEEN BRENDAN COX/HOPE NOT HATE AND NIGEL FARAGE, PLEASE? THERE'S ANOTHER THREAD WHERE MERKEL'S POLICIES ARE BEING DISCUSSED.

Farage is right about the idiot Merkele but everybody already knows that anyway.

Nothing to see here.

Are you just out of bed?
You keep posting these obscure threads about minor disagreements concerning minor political squabblings that nobody gives a damm about.

Have you nothing better to do?

Go back to bed, FM. You missed the point of the OP and your information on the Berlin attack is 7-8 hours out of date.

Syrian Christian leaders warned them this would happen if you just threw open the gates to any old psycho from the Middle East. I wouldnt want the psychos from own tribe moving down en mass to the ROI.

Farage was absolutely right to criticize Merkel for her open borders policy which has yet again resulted in a massacre of innocents only yesterday.

If that sympathy vampire Brendan Cox doesn't want to be exposed to political views that he finds distressful then he shouldn't badger Nigel Farage on twitter.

The group 'Hope not Hate' that Farage was criticizing are a dishonest bunch of cretins. They lied through their teeth about abusive online messages supposedly made towards Jo Cox after her murder in order to gain as much political capital from it. They have no shame.

A supposed outpouring of online hatred against Jo Cox, a murdered MP, was exaggerated | The Economist

The OP has no point other than a whinge against Farage and a whine to collect money.

and your information on the Berlin attack is 7-8 hours out of date.
As usual you fail to refer to anything I have said.
AFAIR I have not posted on that thread concerning the Berlin attack.

If i have then post up what I said.

The Merkele legacy is self evidently in tatters.

A bit like the woolly threads you never stop posting..

The OP fails to understand that the German electorate will now blame Merkele for this attack.

You know who carried out the attack in Berlin? Have you contacted the German police?

Okay, I'll have a read of that. It doesn't sound like it makes them extremists though.

His wife was murdered by a far right loon and you call him a sympathy vampire? What sort of person are you?

Your idiotic OP referred to a tweet by Farage concerning the idiot German chancellor.
I have commented on this.

However it looks like you do not welcome comments on certain aspects of the dreary multiple OPs that you post on an almost daily basis now.

The sane ones will anyway but what percentage are they?

The thing about crazies like Merkel and her mates is that they are a bit like a NSADP nutter of the 1930s who believed that all German history and culture was ultimately leading up to the Hitlerite regime; only they thought that made it glorious while the clowns we have now believe that makes it darkly and irredeemably tainted. Very similar cultural psychosises though.

What exactly prompted Brendan Cox to plunge both feet into this ?

A bit rash on the part of Cox.

Farage over-reacted. But don't be surprised if Farage has his facts in order. He tends to be meticulous in these matters.

Probably the Taoists carrying out one of their signature massacres on Christian targets given recent trends.

Farage is a supporter of the the UK referendum result.

That says that the English have not only decided to tell the rest of the people of Europe but also the rest of the people on these islands to eff off.

That is similar to what they said when a million people on this island were allowed to die of hunger in the 1840s.

Then they were head of world wide empire and they could afford to do so with impunity.

Now the consequences could be the disintegation of the UK.
