They'll fly in on helicopter and back out on the same day.
The owner of the golf club will do well, but "the economy of Fermanagh and Donegal???" I fail to see how they'll benefit. It's not like we'll all be going there to welcome them, stopping off for Ice Cream on the way in Bundoran.

Are you prepared to give up your freedom of movement for a few days, and live under virtual Martial Law, so they can get their photo op.
By the way, I can't see this going ahead. It'll be a security nightmare.
It'll be a red rag to Republican groups

Highly unlikely to be picked, but it would be hard to see the economy of the area involved not benefit.
These summits are covered by over one thousand journalists, not to mention the delegates and security apparatus

The world's most powerful leaders in deepest, darkest Fermanagh - what could possibly go wrong?

Will Peter and Marty get an invite for a quick grip and grin with the big boys - and Angela?

And more importantly, will Enda get an invite with Ireland holding the EU presidency for the first half of the year?

If he does, can someone please make sure he doesn't disgrace us all - like the last time we got an invite to this gig.

No wonder Bertie dumped his mistress Celia Larkin after she chose that wardrobe for him. Any woman should know better for her man ! FFS look at the oversized jacket keeping his belly in. No wonder the little Jap beside him is keeping his head down.

Enniskillen Centre Of The Universe

FERMANAGH is in the midst of preparing to welcome world leaders to its door step with the G8 summit due to be held here next year, it is understood.

Speculation is mounting that leaders from eight of the world's largest economies including US President Barack Obama, will descend on Enniskillen next Summer for talks hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron.

Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Russia's President Vladimir Putin are among those also expected to attend.

Government and security sources are remaining tight-lipped about confirming or denying the reports.

However, the Impartial Reporter understands that the five-star Lough Erne Golf Resort has been selected as the venue for the 39th meeting next June.

It is thought the luxury hotel spa and championship golf course was selected as the hub for next year's event not only because of its out of town location, but the fact that it is set on a peninsula.

A number of other hotels throughout the County have also been block-booked to accommodate security personnel and the world's press, among others, throughout the summit's duration, this newspaper understands.

A luxury resort hotel in Northern Ireland is being seriously considered as a venue for next year’s G8 summit.

The five-star Lough Erne complex in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, is believed to be one of several UK locations in the running to host the exclusive gathering of world leaders. No final decision has been taken, Downing Street said.

If true it's a hell of a boost for the Lough Erne resort, which is currently in receivership and up for sale!!

But sure assorted wasters wouldn't have anything to contribute to the economy, right?,
I guess you just wanted a chance to get a rant in and get it off your chest.
Glad I could be of some assistance in relieving some of your stress sir.

Is one area of concern here that, as the UK is hosting the G8, then if they host it in NI this will give a sense that NI is in the UK to a world audience, and that dissidents may become unsettled as a result? Should perhaps the security issues and implicatons need looking at?

Or perhaps it is two fingers to SF and the nationalist people?
