Yes. Look at an Irish church and compare it to a mosque. Look at Islamic dietary laws and compare them to what's practiced here. Look at the pictures of Eid being celebrated and compare it to how Easter is celebrated. Could go on and on. Do you really think Islam and Christianity are the same?

Prawn cocktail is an abomination to the christian Lord. A lot of so called christians will be going to hell for eating a starter! I don't make the rules, that's just how it its. Ramadan and Lent both involve fasting, there's prostrating during holy week ceremonies and then celebrating at the end of it. Chocolate eggs have nothing to do with either religion and the same sky fairy that they both worship doesn't exist.

Religion is stupid.

I know that you don't care for logic or reason or anything like that. I know that you don't really care about religion . Christianity and difference from it is just a convenient wall to hang your racism on. Them damned Muslims are "Brown" they are of "Colour" , they are not "White" like all real Irish people.

"Non-Whites" can be among us for generations, that does not matter . For you they are "Not_White" and therefore cannot be one of us Irish.

If someone e.g. from eastern Europe(White) applies for and gets an Irish Passport then of course they and their children are Irish.

You are not fooling anyone. Your agenda is plain.

FYI : Us real Irish think that you and your ilk are disgusting.

Meh, Tipp don't trail by one goal and ten points ever. What's the name of the planet you're on?

Its a planet called 'I'd nearly rather it was Dublin'. It orbits round a life giving nucleus, not unlike our own sun called 'Anyone but Tipp'.

You mightn't like the names of the other planets either. :)

Decent article here about Croker being pimped out for the Eid celebrations. Well worth reading. You won't come across anything like this in the mainstream media.

Sports should never mix with religion or politics. There are numerous parts of the Phoenix Park that could be sectioned off for religious celebration.
There are GAA grounds named after priests and bishops and a LOT of GAA grounds have the local priest around to bless the opening of a new pitch etc. All Ireland finals used to start with the Captains kissing the Bishops ring....before he threw the ball in (Stop laughing at the back) Much as I dislike large elements of the Catholic church, they have encouraged many generations to play our games.

What style of Irish church are you comparing to a mosque?

You cite "The Burkean" as a worthwhile source of opinion.

One of it's founders has dis-associated herself from the magazine and said

" The publication has increasingly focused on radical right-wing-thought and alienated many of its original readers"

You are going to have some difficulty convincing anyone that the above is a "balanced" article.

You think the notoriously hungry GAA gave the place over for free?

I have been to a half dozen events in Croker from Xmas work parties to full trade conferences. The place has something on every day. Yesterday was Eid and probably two other events
You FAI boys have some neck calling any other organisation notoriously hungry, oh the irony.

That's a deliciously badly written article. My favourite bit is where they create a hypothetical situation where JWs rent might hold a similar event and then question why the media and govt treated the Islamic (real) event and the JW (hypothetical) event differently. I really enjoyed that and will read more if that's the standard of writing. I'm assuming it's an ironic site right?

My motivation is simple. There is a group of foreign extremists paying Irish extremists to whip up racial tension. The same arseholes complain that muslims won't integrate. When they do, they show up protesting and abusing people, and specifically the Gardai. This shit needs to be dealt with before they kill someone. They are getting bolder and bolder.
What Irish extremists are you on about?

That is one of the worst articles ever written.

You are right that you wouldn't read that in the mainstream media.

When Berkean writers grow up, they move on to Grifter meeja. Proper outlets wouldn't touch them with a bargepole!

The sight of some 200 traditionally clad muslims, praying in their traditional way, on the sacred soil of the Gaelic Athletic Association stung the hearts of many of the nation’s children

a complete and total desecration of the sporting grounds where Bloody Sunday took place

The celebrations that took place constitute a desecration of the grounds of Croke Park, but this was not intentional

So who allowed this event to take place? The obvious first organization that comes to mind would be the GAA

This is not the first time the establishment in Ireland has pulled a stunt like this, and it unfortunately won’t be the last

How would people praying in a place where a terrible act occurred "desecrate" that place. Surely , if you believe an a God, and in prayer, the "holiness" of the prayer and the "goodness of wishes" of those who are praying "sanctifies" that place.

"So who allowed this event to take place? The obvious first organization that comes to mind would be the GAA "

The author of those sentences clearly is not of the first order of intelligence.

How would praying to the same god as the people who were murdered on Bloody Sunday be a desecration?
