Senator Niall O Brolchain has tweeted about the prospect of a left alliance led by Eamon Gilmore, including Sinn Fein and the Greens.

Is a Left wing Govt now possible? Lab 24, SF 16 and Green 3 (RedC) is nearly enough. Would Mr Gilmore consider a voting pact? Advice sought
What advice would you give him?

Tell him we're not going to dirty ourselves by contemplating an alliance with his lot.

My advice to him would be to get used to his party losing all their seats in the Dail and never getting into government again

Spotty would tell him not to worry about it. There's a Llama farmer in Timbucktu who'll be closer to the Dail than NOB after the people vote.

Greens? Left? ROFLMFAO.

For the love of Bob Niall, would youse ever stop clutching at straws and just go away. Nobody that supported this disgraceful Govt should ever be allowed near public office ever again.

Is his phone disconnected?

Or is the Seanad now based in outer Mongolia? Would he not have access to Mister G. in the corridors of the Oireachtas?

Effing Twitts.

Tell the cabages to stick their voting pact where no organic vegetables would ever grow.
The greens have defied democracy and diserve to be obliterated, cannot see them getting more that one seat (Sergent)

He has as much chance as the Dear Leader's promise to renegotiate with the IMF.

I have no idea why he thinks Eamon Gilmore would feel the need to talk to the Greens at all. They will come back with almost no elected representatives in the next Dail. They should take the time they have left in government to impliment what policies they feel are most important and leave it at that. it will be a long time before the electorate look to the green party again.

Aside from their antics in gov (bank guarantees, bailouts, cuts and such), the way the GP have treated their current partners (as much as I loathe FF), they can shove it. They called a press conference to notify the public of their withdrawal from gov, without even mentioning it to their government partners, despite having had a productive cabinet meeting the night before. On that basis alone they would simply be impossible to work with - totally unpredictable.

These people....could you imagine actual professionals behaving like this? Mark Hurd tweeting Sun microsystems as a way to open up merger negotiations without telling Larry Elison first: DO U LIKE ME? Y, N, MYB?

There are ways to use social networking to offer more openness in politics and provide information. The Greens constant problem is that they don't ask themselves the first question a professional would before writing anything "Would I say this on the 6.01 news?" Instead they run around like Paris ******* Hilton, tweeting the first moronic brainfart that pops into their head.

Spotty's never been to Timbucktu, so he can't he certain. But it sounds to Spotty like the kind of place one would seek out a Llama farmer at.
Sounds like a Bothar delivery gone wrong!!

Advice?

Jeez I dunno, cast an almighty "obliviate" spell so that everyone forgets their post-election turnaround last time?

How else could anyone possibly trust them this time?
