A source has told me that a statement is due shortly by the Green Party about their future in government.

A press conference/statement by Gormley is now expected at 11.30.

Greens 'may leave Govt after Budget'

The Green Party is expected to make an announcement on its future in government this morning.

The Green parliamentary party is meeting around now to discuss the fallout from last night's decision of the Cabinet to seek emergency funding from the IMF.

There is speculation the party may announce plans to exit government after the Budget.

Maybe they found a spine.

They will pull the plug after the budget at a guess.

Id imagine if they say they will pull the plug after the budget, FF backbenchers will do so before hand.

Has to be: "We'll see the budget through, then call for an election" If they do that there's a slim chance one of their TDs might get back in. Otherwise they'll all be toast.

Luckily they managed to get the vast majority of their TDs a ministerial pension, wasn't it...

I suppose they haven't been very vocal lately have they, the donkeys.

If the Greens pull out that is the end of them, they are just about hanging in there at the moment.

Like it matters what they do now.....they're done for at the next election.
Too little, too late.

Hopefully, they will all be toast anyway. They should have pulled the plug long, long ago.

We stand fully behind the government in these hard times blah blah blah.....
It does'nt matter what they say or do, as a party they won't be around after the next election.

FF backbenchers will go ballistic with the Veggies beating them to the punch.
Their last chance of avoiding incineration has just gone.

100Bn is what Ryan's offshore wind would cost.

they'll stay in government as long as they can spend the bailout money on Ryan's whackjob green energy fantasies.

It has alaways been a mystery to me that JHR and Lowry have had this government by the balls for the past three years, as did the PDs before them, and yet the Greens have been consistently insipid, ingratiating and spineless. It's too late to distance themselves now, they are complicit in bringing this country to it's knees.

It's too late.... they are and have been complicit in the in the total and deliberate destruction of this country. Nothing they could say or do will change that. If they do feel the need to try to appease their own conscience go now, not after the budget.

I had a chat with a senior contact this morning.
Was advised to buy a good durable pair of boots today, for the canvass.
Seriously.
They'll start peddaling around now with more irrelevant balderdash. The sooner this election is over and done with the better and they are banished until the next time we have an improving economy and have time to dwell on non essentials. Get rid of them NOW.

surely this is it. Their absolute last chance to restore even the smallest shred of credibility. Makes sense for them.
