Feel sure Pat will make a statement to.morrow saying he was working continuously behind the scenes and this is an agreed solution provided both parties sign non-disclosure agreements going back 20 years.

Reported on Newstalk today that The OCI has made a provision for a bad debt of €410K in connection with The Pat Hickey Case, it was a loan they gave him, which he still fully intends to pay back.

He will attend his upcoming trial by skype!

OCI did not put up the USD410k, it was a European Olympic Committee, in other words, his mates in Azerbaijan.

Doubt it will be via Skype.

Would certainly seem that THG are going to back Mallon 100% as their future is dependent on a positive outcome for Mallon, all their other UK/Worldwide contracts would disappear if Mallon is found guilty.

Wonder if there is a rift with Pat and THG.

The lawyers are trying to tell the Brasil Courts to mind their own business, these contracts were outside Brasil and they have no jurisdiction, bullying rhetoric, this could get like fun.

OCI should contribute to Irish sport,

"The OCI posted losses of €800,000 for 2016 due to the fallout from the Rio ticketing scandal. The government initially withheld €500,000 of outstanding funding to them to sort out their governance issues but agreed to reinstate that two months ago".

OCI should put Hickey on notice that should he be found guilty they will look to recover these losses from him personally.

Hickey has put great store that there is an insurance policy in place to cover his defence but yet the OCI do not refer to it.

"The OCI reprted losses of €800,000 for 2016, after the fallout from the ticketing scandal cost the organisation €1.5 million".

No mention of any outstanding contingent liabilities with Pat, are there more legal fees to come, what does the "policy", Pat says, supposedly in place to cover these legal costs.

If Pat loses will OCI recoup all their costs from him personally through bankrupting him, if required.

"Former OCI president Pat Hickey could not be reached for comment".

Doubt very much if the IT could find Pat these days, he will not want any type of publicity, low profile stuff.

Pat has bigger fish to fry than doing his past job looking after the boxers.
perhaps, it could be said, he would be much better off looking after the boxers......which it could also be said was his job..........

Not surprised. The Guardian were reporting about this before Rio.

Senior figures within amateur boxing have warned many bouts, including those to decide medals, could be fixed at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro amid widespread concern about corruption and financial malpractice at the sport’s global governing body, the Guardian can reveal.

Horrified senior officials within the sport believe a cabal of officials are able to use their power to manipulate the draw and the judging system to ensure certain boxers will win.

One senior figure said there was “no doubt” some of the judges and referees in Rio “will be corrupted”. He alleged a group of referees get together before major championships to decide how to score certain bouts.

Watched the opening game in WC earlier, am sure I saw Pat sitting with all the knobs and suits, away from Putin as he attracts cameras but they are good mates.

Amazed nobody else saw Pat, he was fully dressed.

And yes the case seems to have gone cold, the OCI should get out and crack the whip, they are staring at losses here because of his behaviour, if he is in breach of his remit, let's be having him.
