Surprise surprise an apoligist for the religion of mayhem, i dont suppose you will be condemning this law they have in place.

They'll probably use our own blasphemy laws as a template, a few restrictive theocracies have already used it as such.

A suitable response would be for athiests to ask Pakistan to provide evidence of the existence of that Imaginary chum that is to be revered. ( I presume they will not use Catholic Apparition sites as proof because they would make the cult look like a copy cat to the believers ).

The blasphemers are more like to be telling the truth than the authorities.

Is there anyway to send a free copy of the greatest work of Christopher Hitchens to each signature provider ?

So as to ensure that there will be no more athiests or non-believers silenced for challenging the relevant ridiculous racket trying to shut people up ?

Nice guys.
I'm sure the snowflake brigade would welcome them with open arms.
The permanently outraged against Western values and human rights will be very silent.

At least they banned Milo. Praise be to Allah.
Milo never killed anyone.

Do they, who are all these people who defend the death penalty for such offences? Do you really stand over this garbage you write?
I think he meant Islam in general.

They'll probably use our own blasphemy laws as a template, a few restrictive theocracies have already used it as such.
This is yet another reason our blasphemy laws need abolishing.

Don't give a shlt.

It hardly affects us now, does it?

Sure, we don't have something as mental and laughable as a law against blasphemy, do we?

Oh wait.

And sure we don't have any fundamentalist loons agitating to change our way of life, even though their numbers are so few, do we?

Wrong again.

Just biding their time, and laughing at our clueless spineless embracing of diversity.

Nobody to question or challenge them.

Thank you for expressing the essence of laws aimed at preventing people from speaking critically of religion.

Blasphemy laws are stupid.

I believe in the tooth fairy - how dare you criticise my 'beliefs'.

Maybe Pakistan can deal with the blasphemy against Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Ahmadiyya prophet, its own government engages in. The claim of respect for all religions that Muslim governments sometimes make is hypocrisy of the highest order given how essentially all of them treat religious minorities, and also given how the Quran contains strongly negative judgements of other religions.

#HangAyazNizami is/was no1 trending hashtag on Pakistani Twitter. Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar seems to be the moderate :D behind this. As a sidebar same guy had a meeting with Ambassadors from other Islamic countries with the aim of getting the UN to publish a legal opinion on "blasphemous content on the social media and how to effectively raise voice of the entire Muslim world against the madness unleashed against Islam and holy personalities in the name of freedom of expression."
Will the world tell them to politely go and hang?

Ah, don't worry, they'll soon back down when the combined forces of the Irish left get on the case- I'm sure that nice O'Gorman chap will issue a stern statement, won't he? - maybe ask his friends the Halawas to intervene?

A few years ago, when this site was a lot more 'leftie' I suppose, I used to try and get threads going about Pakistan, anytime some outrage was committed there by the Taliban or whatever other Islamist faction that the army there was sponsoring at the time. I remember a case where a Christian couple were burnt alive in their hovel. They collected rubbish for a living and were accused by the mob of burning a Koran (they were illiterate and probably set up) - the police arrived just in time not to save them, of course.

I put up a post about it, and then a second, and got absolutely zero response. At the time there was a thread about a Bedouin toilet (I kid you not) that had been demolished by the Israelis. That thread, and numerous others about the Israel/Palestine issue, attracted endless angry posts from Shinners and other lefties, but the incineration of innocent Christians and the frequent massacres of 'the wrong type' of Muslim civilians and others in Pakistan were of zero interest to them.

That's the hypocrisy of the so-called progressives of the left.

There'd be conflicted minds on this. There's a tendency to support the " struggle " of the Kashmiri terrorists and their Pakistani backers on the grounds that the Indian Army is a fairly tough outfit that doesn't go in for human rights much. There are large groups of Kashmiris in the UK in the constituencies that attract the likes of Galloway etc. A few Christians getting murdered isn't going to make headlines.
