Has Alan Shatter put Irish Troops in danger by his conduct in Lebanon?

In this interview with the Daily Star in Lebanon Alan Shatter voiced the exact Israeli Government line on the question of Hezbollah.

As the Irish Army has to work on a day to day basis with Hezbollah in Lebanon what is the Irish Minister of Defence doing enunciating Israeli Government policy on this matter?

Is this official Irish Government policy?
If it is then there is no alternative but to have an immediate withdrawal of all Irish troops from Lebanon and the Golan. If not, Shatter has to be sacked. It is as simple as that.

Irish minister: Hezbollah has just one wing | News , Politics | THE DAILY STAR

BEIRUT: It is not a “valid distinction” to differentiate between Hezbollah’s military and political wings, Alan Shatter, Ireland’s minister for defense, justice and equality, said Sunday. “I don’t believe that distinction is a valid distinction,” Shatter, presently on an official visit to Lebanon, told The Daily Star.
“I think Hezbollah is a single organization,” he continued, adding: “it doesn’t reflect ... the structure of the IRA [Irish Republican Army] where the IRA, or Provisional IRA, was a military wing and Sinn Fein was a political wing.”
(Yes, I know there are other threads on Israel but this is important in itself - I know that the interview is being discussed with great concern by others involved in the present situation in the Middle East. The Jewish Chronicle is already running with the story).

Eamon Gilmore will probably have a say in this decision on Hezbollah so I would say "not so fast". If Hezbollah did commit the attack in Burgas, then it;s military wing should be declared a terrorist organisation. But do not rule out it could have been a false-flag attack by Mossad to get the EU to do this. In the 1950's they staged terror attacks from the Sinai as a pretext to invade.

Here is the Jewish Chronicle story-

Hizbollah row may lead to Irish cabinet split | The Jewish Chronicle

Extract:

Alan Shatter: ‘not valid’ to differentiate between HIzbollah wings

The Irish Defence Minister may have created a potential domestic dispute with government colleagues after suggesting it was “not valid” to differentiate between Hizbollah’s political and military wings.

Alan Shatter appeared to depart from government policy by questioning the separation of the Iranian-backed terror group’s wings by a number of European governments.

The Irish government has yet to outline its position on whether Hizbollah should be proscribed by the Europe Union.

It's time Shatter stuck to his brief. This is for Gilmore to hang himself.

Are you getting paid for all these threads or what? Would you consider just a bit obsessed at this stage? Is there any other topic on earth which interests other than starting threads on the middle east?? Just asking.

I'm just nosy you could say. This poster spends 24/7 on here continually starting the same basic thread. What motivates such a person and why is he so obsessed with the issue? Its a genuine question. I really want to know.

That's what motivates me to come here. To find out stuff.

That doesn't make sense, why does anyone post on any subject here . You spend 24/7 on here posting the same things over and over again, why are you so obsessed ?

What's the next Shatter thread going to be : 'Shatter walks into Dáil chamber with untied shoe lace. When will Kenny get rid of this disgrace?' I imagine somewhere down the thread some genius would add the following contribution 'He wouldn't do that in the Knesset.'

Do you know what definitely puts Irish troops in danger? Sending them to Lebanon.

What am i perceived to be obsessed with? By whom?

I am curious why this actual topic of the middle east is of such interest to posters. I have asked for a response from several but none have yet provided a satisfactory one. Call me curious about the world and the people in it and endlessly fascinated by what motivates them. This topic seems to be of such interest to so many people and yet nobody can explain why. I find that interesting and i want to figure out why. Can you help?

I have seen this poster put up countless threads all of the same nature and contributed to none of them.
He appears to be an obsessive or prehaps a front for some campaign organisation? I don't know really.
Can anybody please explain? Its not an unreasonable question i think.

Londons Jewish community have Terrible Tim down as a " nothing better to do " pro- Palestinian. No Irish military people would touch him with a barge pole despite him pretending to be on first name terms with cranks like Col.Travers who took up a post that even Mary Robinson declared utterly biased.

Well its a start but i'm not very much clearer really. Thanks for at least attempting to answer rather than deflect attention such as those posters who have nothing to contribute. No names obviously.

You are obsessed with this forum and Tim for a start. Two threads on the front page , started by pro Israelis and you're not complaining about them starting threads. Instead you say on one of the threads
Right, here's our chance. The second Tim Horgan gets here build a wall around this thread and never let the usual suspects out onto the main forum to bother us with their silly obsession again.
I have explained why I am interested in this subject several time to you but you never responded.
The main reason for me now is that israel, a nuclear power, has the capacity to start a third world war .

Also I don't want my taxes going to any state that declares itself a democracy but acts like a medieval colonial power that totally disregards the human rights of others and ignores international law. Israel gets millions of € each year in "aid " from the EU.

I also don't want associate membership of the EU to be given to a state that dishonestly labels produce/foodstuffs as israeli, but it actually comes from illegal settlements in Palestine, when we in the EU countries have to be accountable for everything we produce.

Do you have any reputable links for any of these statements ?
Otherwise we might think that you are making it up

OK but many of the same things could be said about Pakistan/India. They could start WWW3 as well. Why is everyone not arguing about that? Are some conflicts just sexy and some not so to speak? The world has lots of conflicts. I still don't see why this particular one is so absorbing.

I think North Korea has tested nuclear weapons and rockets in the recent past? Why are we not getting dozens of threads about that? I hear what you say but if people have all these moral issues why can we not use the same standards and use the forum to highlight problems everyhere else.

Maybe you should start your own thread on it as we are derailing this one.

I have given you my reasons I can't speak for anyone else.

However I don't think you're being honest in your "quest" for answers

As you wish. I actually care little for either of the warring factions as long as they stay over there and don't bother me it's their business. I have no agenda and take no side. You would'nt have a link or evidence for your clam of dishonesty i suppose?

Otherwise don't be surprised if i accuse you of just making up random stuff.

I added my reason for thinking you are being disingenuous in the other post, here it is again.

You have a very obvious bias, whether you admit it or not

Anyway I'm off to bed now.
