Has any poster here ever ran in an election?

I would love to run up here in NI.

Sadly I would be expelled from all pre-election debates and kicked out of chambers if elected. Mainly because of how many times I would call people 'a f*cking idiot' during debates and meetings. :D

I've run in several internal Plaid Cymru over the years - mainly for the NEC & have always won.

I stood for my local town & county council in May & managed to scrape in.

My family are generally supportive - although as part of my ward contains much of a largely working class town centre, & so case work tends to eat a lot of my time.

I think that my local Plaid Cymru branch spent 2 or 3 hundred pounds on my campaign (we print everything in house).

Electors complain about everything, but the ubiquitous concern is parking & the most serious involves problems stemming from heroin abuse.
Well done on your election.

Um, yes - I can see that would be a problem.

Worry ye not. The most popular local councillor from my neck of the woods, the one who always gets elected on first preferences alone with no run-off, has been expelled from his own party,, regularly ejected from every chamber he has sat in, sued and fined and disciplined .... and he is a local hero. :)

Well done Comrade and prospering ever since.. p.s my two new N.Korean assistants Ji Queng and Li Htong are delightful, bubbly personalities, but I fear that you may have been correct in your assessment of Hello Kitty mania..... lol
OP asked if posters ran in local, national and Euopean elections.........yet you congratulate a resident fookwit claiming to have won a student election.

Priceless.

It was a national student election, actually.

Not a National Socialist one, either. :)

My electoral history is not good. I was imposed as a dictator (milk monitor) in primary school, in despair I was again installed without a vote as a senior class representative on the basis of having beaten the headmaster in an open debate- I think they thought that if they gave me responsibility I'd be less annoying but I was just as promptly suspended for a month within a week or so.

Jury foreman which went alright. I'd have the same problem in being a political representative in that if I meet a pr1ck I tend to tell them which effectively closes down many avenues in politics.

Also, I loathe the general public. Which is not necessarily a barrier as many politicians also clearly loathe the public but the main thing is having an ability to avoid telling them that and that's the bit I wrestle with.

In the main I tend to do better in putsches and in being installed without a vote. I really only have an interest in one political position and that is being the first Minister for the Interior in Sidey's Ghost's cabinet.

It would be a short career but a glorious one. I'd only need about three months anyway and the people would probably demand my release in due course in any case.

This is why you and Sidey need me as your Evita.

I will do all the talking to the general public and lift my milk-white arms declaring "We! We! Those who have nothing!" as down the afore-mentioned the diamond bracelets ring .... petunia

I think that would preclude most of the posters on the Nordie pages - myself excepted!
The state of politics up above is shocking - full of imbeciles and gimps
