Turkey's Erdogan Meets Russia's Putin for 'New Page' in Restored Relations - NBC News

https://www.rt.com/business/355245-turkey-restart-tukish-stream/

Following on from the Coup Attempt, where it clearly appears that the pro Coup Units seem to have been Turkish NATO units.

Erdogan has promoted a ruthless culling of Units and Commanders since then which has resulted in lots of Intel sources drying up for the west.

A make up with Russia has occurred very quickly, too quickly, with the Southern Transit (Turkish Stream project) that NATO has done everything to stop now going to happen.

Russian tourists number 4 million a year and 97% drop has cost Turkey billions since last November and clearly Erdogan wants it back.

The Gas Transit deal is a lot more damaging as it kills any hope that Ukraine could ever be a transit area.

In addition Bulgaria and other countrys know that it was ultimately the US pushing the EU that killed any chance they had in the project.

A Russia - Turkey make up was inconceivable 6 months ago and maybe highlighting that it was Turkish Military on behalf of their Western Paymasters who were pushing the war in Syria.

Erdogan knew there was going to be a Coup Attempt the question is from whom.

Based on what has happened since then and the makeup talks with Russia, prior to the coup attempt it appears that Russia knew and passed what it had to Erdogan to ensure his survival. Erdogan knowing his Allies were plotting against him has decided he needs new ones.

In doing so eliminating a Cadre of Nato trained officers and Western Intelligence agencies.

However what is even more crucial is that NATO would find its access to the Black Sea even more limited and its plan to build up Bulgarian and Romanian pseudo Navies comes unstuck.

Big question that must be worrying the west is Was it a Turkish source that told Russia or Was it a Western one.

Obama may follow "Carter .......... The Man who lost Iran" as the "Man who lost Turkey" potentially more damaging.

If it turns out it was Russian Intelligence who did all this in stopping the US Coup attempt, moving Turkey closer to Russian then it will be the "Coup of the 21st Century".

I'm interested to see how Putin deals with him.
Somehow can't see Russia open it's borders and invite countless Muslims in.

There is still a major issue between Turkey and Russia. Namely Syria.

Right now the battle of Aleppo is still in the balance.

Erdogan believes that Turkey is a regional power and has an influence on all his surrounding states. In that context he sees himself as re-establishing the Ottoman axis rather than serving any state that has emerged subsequent to Versailes

I don't see why Obama is being mentioned in this regard. Erdogan is the author of his own misfortunes (although he doesn't seem to see it this way).

They will make strange bedfellows

- as neither are likely to be at helm 15/20 years from now

- will this be a temporary little arrangement?

TBH I would be more fearful what will happen when these fellows are gone from the scene ....

You need Strong Men to rule these kind of places

- weaklings are a Disaster

Obama being a prime example

Erdogan is still pushing for visa free travel into the EU, which is de facto membership of the EU, with out the nasty human rights stuff, and he will get it, Angela has bottled it and Turkey knows it , he will get rid of his secular population, and secure his power base. simples. Turkish quarter near coming soon.

Visa free travel to the EU is 'de facto membership'? Tell me, when did the USA become a defacto EU member?

Erdogan is like the woman who's being pursued by two lovers. She plays one off against the other, so as to maximise her own benefit.

Erdogan is trying to play both ends against the middle.
Erdogan is none to subtly giving the US a hint of what might happen if they do not extradite this Gullen bloke.

Even Obama isn't stupid enough to facilitate that one....

More like he will be restricted in the USA

- and a nice big fat sum of US Dollars will be on its way to Ankara....

Iran in 1979 decided with great gusto thst it eould turn back the clock.

Erdogan is doing the same with Turkey.

The world will not wait for backward fools like Erdogan.

The Kremlin will play Erdogan along until they no longer need him. Erdogan is in a tight corner over ISIS oil business. The Rusdians have ruined it. He is hoing to them because he is desperate.

Turkey now potentially has access to Nuclear weapons and has asked itself with the jihad.

There will be trouble ahead. .
