Turns out the FBI knew in detail about Headley's activities in Pakistan (not surprising, considering the fact he was a US agent/informer), but let him travel freely around the world and complete his mission anyway.

From the Washington Post:
"In three interviews with federal agents, Headley's wife said that he was an active militant in the terrorist group Lashkar-i-Taiba, had trained extensively in its Pakistani camps, and had shopped for night-vision goggles and other equipment, according to officials and sources close to the case. The wife, whom ProPublica is not identifying to protect her safety, also told agents that Headley had bragged of working as a paid U.S. informant while he trained with the terrorists in Pakistan, according to a person close to the case."

I can only see a claim that he did work for the DEA as an informer at one time. I am more interested in why Easy Irish thinks this is a 'false flag'? Or is the term used as a signal for certain posters to turn off their brains and go with the flow - regardless of the facts (or lack of them).

She said he was a "paid US informant". The DEA are a US federal body and he apparently did once act as an informer for them.

If you've followed the case the US government has acknowledged that he was a paid DEA informant.

From wikipedia:

"In November 1998, Headley was delivered to the low-security Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix. However, his supervised release period was never completed. Instead, in November 2001, an assistant U.S. attorney applied to have Headley discharged.[17] Headley traveled to Pakistan multiple times to conduct undercover surveillance operations for the Drug Enforcement Administration.[13] In 2002 and three times in 2003, he attended Lashkar-e-Taiba training camps in Pakistan.[15]"

Well, As far as I can see, the facts are as follows:
1. Headley worked as a DEA informant
2. His wife went to the FBI in 2005 and expressed her concern at her husband's activities, i.e. that he was involved in terrorist training activities in Pakistan
3. Headley continued to move freely and then supervised the attacks in Mumbai

Now, I for one find this a little suspicious.

I see the Pentagon recently bought up the entire first print run of a book written by an army intelligence officer who identified Mohammad Atta as the leader of a terror cell 2 years before the 9/11 attacks. Apparently nobody listened to him and he was prevented from sharing the info with the FBI.
Pentagon Burns 'Operation Dark Heart': Censorship Gaffe? - TIME

Two of the most significant terror attacks ever, and security agencies were explicitly forewarned in both instances and did nothing?

That's a little slack isn't it?

A paid Drugs enforcement agency informant. Do the DEA combat terrorism in Pakistan?

On the face of it, it would appear that they do precisely the opposite.

In any case, the DEA's activities are not confined to narcotics related operations. For example, the DEA arranged the sting that snared Viktor Bout in Bangkok, and that was for alleged arms dealing (though it is believed he also shifted heroin out of Afghanistan, which is probably why DEA agents laid the trap).

Well i suppose you'll find it suspicous... but I don't in particular.

Able Danger? Well theres a can of not very interesting worms...

Two of the most significant terror attacks ever, and security agencies were explicitly forewarned in both instances and did nothing?
EXPLICITLY WARNED?

Where in any testimony is there an EXPLICIT WARNING that Mumbai would be attacked by a Pakistani Terrorist Group in 2008?

Where in any testimony is there an EXPLICIT WARNING that Mohammed Atta would be helping to fly planes into WTC on september 2001?

I look forward to these explicit warnings.

That's a little slack isn't it?
I'll tell you what's slack. People like you making claims which aren't supported by the evidence. So feel free to provide evidence for your assertion for these EXPLICIT warnings.

So that's a no then since they are a drug's enforcement agency.

Allegeded arms dealing to whom... yes that's right FARC, who facilitate the shipping millions and millions dollars worth of drugs to the US. Because FARC's operations would be of no concern to the DEA. And preventing the strengthening of FARC by illegal arms dealers is why the DEA would have set up a sting operation.

They were explicitly warned that both Mohammad Atta and David Headley were involved in plotting acts of terror.

Oh, and Conor, the New York Times is reporting that another of his wives went to US authorities in Islamabad a year before the Mumbai attacks and told them that Headley was plotting an attack on Mumbai, even identifying the Taj as one of the targets.

In several long interviews in her home, Mr. Headley’s Moroccan wife, Faiza Outalha, described the warnings she gave to American officials less than a year before gunmen attacked several popular tourist attractions in Mumbai. She claims she even showed the embassy officials a photo of Mr. Headley and herself in the Taj Mahal Hotel where they stayed twice in April and May 2007. Hotel records confirm their stay.

Ms. Outalha said that in two meetings with American officials at the United States Embassy in Islamabad, she told the authorities that her husband had many friends who were known members of Lashkar-e-Taiba. She said she told them that he was passionately anti-Indian, that he but traveled to India all the time for business deals that never seemed to amount to much.

And she said she told them Mr. Headley assumed different identities: as a devout Muslim who went by the name Daood when he was in Pakistan, and an American playboy named David, when he was in India.

“I told them, he’s either a terrorist, or he’s working for you,” she recalled saying to American officials at the United States Embassy in Islamabad. “Indirectly, they told me, to get lost.”

Can't get much more explicit than that...

Where they?

Can you even find the data where Mohammed Atta was actually identified by Able Danger, let alone plotting to fly planes into the WTC, Pentagon and possibly the whitehouse?

Secondly can you find where the FBI were explicitly warned that a Pakistani terrorist group was going to attack Mumbai?

If not, then the things which you have EXPLICITLY stated - are lies and distortions of the truth.

Explicit than what? A jilted wife goes the US embassy in Islamabad in an attempt to get him put in guantamo bay?

Given that she had been jilted, Ms. Outalha acknowledged she may not have been composed. “I wanted him in Guantánamo,” she said.
One does ask why she didn't go to the Pakistani or Indian authorities. You know the ones which have the soveriegnty and legality to detain and arrest someone whose attempting acts of terror?

But yes mate, you can get MUCH MORE EXPLICIT THAN THAT.

Incidentally, are you a facist? Communist? What would you do as the Embassy official in the US embassy??

A jilted wife who gave explicit and detailed information about a terrorist who went on to kill over 160 people?

If I was a US embassy official, I might have looked into the claims and cross referenced them with the other tip given to the FBI to try and prevent those deaths.

And what explicit and detailed information did she give? That her Pakistani Husband hated Indians but travelled to India on business deals which didn't seem to amount to much? And she went to the American embassy instead of the Indian or Pakistani authorities? because she wanted the man who jilted her to go to Gitmo.

And then an ex wife in 2005 told a separate agency in the US after a domestic abuse case that her husband was training in Pakistan to be a terrorist.

If I was a US embassy official, I might have looked into the claims and cross referenced them with the other tip given to the FBI to try and prevent those deaths.
Looked into what claims? How - exactly, could the FBI or the embassy officials had prevented those deaths? On the basis that one man out of a few thousand might be in cahoots with a Pakistani terrorist group because a wife he beat in america said that he had been "training in afghanistan" and that a jilted wife in pakistan said "he hated Indians, but visited inida alot on business trips."

20:20 hindsight is a wonderful thing.

So still sticking by the FALSE FLAG thing then? I.e. that the US attacked Mumbai?
