Homeless campaigner Erica 'refused' two house offers - Independent.ie

Bit of an embarrassment this.

Seems that the subject of RTE documentary on homelessness and speaker at SF Ard Fheis, and member of delegation to Brussels on homelessness, is actually "homeless" (in hotel) of her own volition.

She has turned down two offers of housing by DCC. Apparently, the Badlands of Clontarf - very like Brooklyn in 1988 during the crack wars really - is not where she wants to live.

She's looking for a home for life, it says in the link. Not even people who can afford to buy a house have that guarantee. I can see her concerns about moving into a house that's privately owned. The landlord can decide to evict her for any number of reasons. But it does seem like she's taking a very selfish attitude. She can't afford her own house, she has a daughter and she is being offered accommodation. She should take it

These people demand that you pay for their home, their lifestyle.
They spend it, you pay it.

Broken Ireland.

Buy Erica a house, give her the title deeds, and be done with it.

Sounds like she might have been trying to carve out a career in the equality industry.
Those that get free stuff become very accustomed to wanting more and more.

Meanwhile the national debt simply spirals upward.

I think she was enjoying the 'mini celebrity' status of been homeless , popping up on RTE , TV3 , numerous press articles , her story was that she was homeless , accepting a house would have killed that.

Also some people revel in the victim status and among a lot of the leftie luvvie types the more a victim you are the more a big deal you are in that community.

Yep, up from €110 billion to over €226 billion under the blueshirts.

We know all about the victim types.
The type who pay no tax in our country, the type that sue everyone and anyone who mentions them.
The type who get debt writedowns that cost the taxpayer hundreds of millions of euros, the type that get handed dodgy state contracts from a dodgy blueshirt water company.
Victims, smictims.
