How will our Government spin a Bailout if/when it comes?

Just wanted to put some stuff in writing. I've a background in PR and if I was spinning this I'd be leading with some of the following.

Fianna Fail will no doubt spin a bailout to the death, Hoping to cause confusion & rumour which will lead to panic and then boredom and finally acceptance.

Here's a few things that I think Fianna Fail and the Greens will do

1. More EU engagements outside Ireland, late meetings, late statements at early hours. This gives the opinion of a government working for us and dialogue.

2. Keys phrases or words like - "consentment", "we're working towards", "bi-lateral", "they are willing to move", - This gives an opinion of being in charge

3. Anglo Investigation - As has been seen before at a time when the public get angry a statement or arrest will be made in relation to Anglo. "This shows that something is been done and there will be a head on a plate - further emphasises that it was a bank who got us here not a government

4. The Bailout - Will probably not be discribed as a bailout but given some form of diluted words which will be in line with a "European wide agreement" or "Package". Ireland will be seen as the winners and Europe will be seen as the winners

5 - Confidence - Fianna Fail will show confidence in its leader and the tough actions he has made throughtout this period in Irish lives where we are all to shoulder responsibility. Europe will show confidence in Ireland and its governent while we all will be greeted with word that Ireland is back in economic growth and turning a corner

6 - Realism that it was "No ones fault - No one saw it coming" - A few tear jerking moments, heart strings will be pulled - A False death threat may be made. At the end - Fianna Fail and the Greens will want to show that no one is at fault - we're all human. In a years time we may have an RTE programme whee they will interview the people involved and show how much it was a strain on Ireland and Europe and play on the health of some ministers

7 -A jobs announcement. When the dust has settled & Budget cuts are made - A Job announcement will be made. Not any old job announcement but a Job announcement which can be related to a 2008 piece of government work. Show long term success and a right approach. Will hopefully instill some confidence in the government.

Anyone else any ideas as to how a Government may spin this.

Surely FF have no mandate or right to be negogiating any bailout, they won't be there to see it in fruition nor will they be there to fully implement the four year plan.
Put your hands up FF, and F-OFF out of goverment.

- They forced us to accept for the sake of the other peripheral countries and the euro

- It isn't a bailout it is a loan guarantee

- They did it for the good of the country

- It was Morgan Kelly's fault

FF/GP have pursued political policies which are now treatening the entire Euro project. Portugal, Spain, Italy will now rapidly face additional difficulties. You can't bailout Ireland and not be prepared to bailout other EU member states, namely the other PIIGS. Euro can't support all of this. The US Fed and possibly China will backstop otherwise the entire global financial system spins into a dive.

Yet 20% out there vote them back.

We are dizzy already with FF spin. The EU have no choice now but to gag us with €45Bn to €90Bn of additional FF debt in order to stave off the obvious attempts that have taken place over the past week or two to turn the run on the Euro in to full flight. Watch this space next Tuesday!!!

GP are suspiciously very quiet. Had a call from friend who works in the meeja, says none of them answering their phones. Something up (besides the obvious)?

we are talking a loan from our Euro friends as the vultures and speculators in the bond markets are persecuting ireland and making it impossible for us to borrow to pay our beloved nurses, teachers and gardai.

- We're the envy of Europe
- They want our economic model to continue as good practice so they're funding us to do it
- They're jealous of our success
- They want to imitate our flexible low tax model so they're giving us billions to teach them how to do it.

FF today continues a proud Irish tradition of accepting aid from the continent. There was the Spanish Armada, the French troops led by Wolfe Tone, and now there is the IMF bailout. We have always been loyal to the idealism of our nation's forefathers, and now there can be no doubt that FF is the republican party, carrying the torch of the Irish spirit on into a challenging new future, but a future more promising than Ireland has ever faced... Spirit of de Valera, spirit of Haughey, your genius has prevailed; Ireland will remain a nation!
