Ian Paisley sums up SF demands in an article in yesterdays newsletter.

One must assume that this is the authentic position and nothing less than these three policy changes will suffice:-

• a stand alone Irish language act.

• a change to abortion law, inauspiciously called a human rights issue when they wish to terminate an unborn life.

• a change to marriage law that they call a respect agenda.

They do not appear to have any key demands on our health care crisis or other more pressing requirements that all Protestants and Roman Catholics face each day.

Sounds like its time that the assembly discussed these issues or bring back direct rule which he also says is imminent in the coming weeks.

Ian Paisley using the NHS is laughable. They are keeping in power a British Tory government who are running the NHS into the ground in order to break it and introduce US style private healthcare.
If you support him that's what you endorse.
Fuk away off up the road.

How come SF don't mention healthcare or eduction in their demands.
You know as well as I do, that far from perfect, but the NHS is one of the best free for all healthcare systems in the world.
If Stormont was back up and running local people could make decisions on how best to spend the extra 1.5 billion the DUP negotiated from Her Majestys governement and improve healtcare and schools.

Give them time and they'll come up with something.
Remember when they walked out of government it was because of the heating scandal.
Later they said they weren't going back because of the Irish language issue.
Later again, they threw in the marriage equality issue.

Let's face it SF are experts at double-talk and hopefully will backtrack big style when they realise James Brokenshire and the DUP is serious about implementing direct rule.

Presumably there already is a health service & education service in Northern Ireland.
You presume correct,
For a man on a Politics site, you seem properly clued in.

If what you say is true it's kind of ironic that SF want things that are taken for granted in the rest of the UK whereas Mr Paisley doesn't.
The people of NI don't want these things that's why.
Its not for SF to decide its the NI assembly.

So that's why they aren't demanding them isn't it?

There's little point in demanding what's already there. It would be a waste of time & effort. You'd also look stupid.

Did little Ian ever ask big Ian about those Israeli guns?

Direct rule, bring it on.

Of sorts.
I do hope welsh politicians don't demand improvements to the NHS or education either, because of course that would be just stupid as it already exists.
