IBRC Loan Customers Michael Lowry, Phil Hogan and Gay Byrne Conflict of Interest?

As part of the IBRC liquidation (congratulations Michael was about time) all still existing loan customers will see their debt being sold at public auction this summer. Among the Anglo Irish Bank and INBS customers are Michael Lowry, Phil Hogan, Gay Byrne, Denis O'Brien, Shane Filan and many more.

Do I smell a conflict of interest here? Many of these Anglo Irish Bank customers have agitated aggressively in recent memory against reckless foreign bondholders and lobbied government directly in a political office or indirectly in the media to underwrite the guarantee that will now subject future generations in Ireland to pay off their reckless debts.

No conflict if they can pay their loans!

What interest rate are they on?

How do their rates compare to those of other customers?

Are the payments up to date?

Of course there's a conflict , always has been and it influenced decisions taken in the past , ie the bank guarantee. We'll have to wait 30 yrs to find out.

Surely a fire sale of these loans is a seriously bad idea...

Had to laugh at FF Sindo mentioning Lowry and Hogan but they couldnt find any ff people who had loans out with either bank.

Cant really see an issue here as long as the loans are being paid.

You are alleging people would buy their loans from the State at discount using State finance?
That's the way Anglo Irish Bank and INBS worked. People borrowed at Anglo to buy Anglo. Why do you think the banks balance sheet ballooned?

IL&P moved 7bn Euro in deposits to Anglo that's after the blanket bank guarantee in 2009.
