French police have searched the Paris apartment of IMF chief Christine Lagarde, as they investigate her role in awarding financial compensation to businessman Bernard Tapie in 2008.
Mr Tapie was a supporter of ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy.
BBC News - IMF head Lagarde's flat searched in Bernard Tapie probe
Lagarde referred Mr Tapie long-running's dispute with bank Credit Lyonnais to a 3rd Party for arbitration.
The arbitration took place in 2007 after the case was initiated back in 1993.
The arbitrators awarded him 400m euros & critics claimed that Lagarde abused her authority :shock2:
What is going on in Big Finance?
As Mr T was a big supporter of Nicholas Sarkozy - could this cause anti-Sarko ripples within the UMP?
Could it also boost Hollande &/or Marine Le Pen?
Will Sarko now pull out of the running?
