So ... we lost the UK from the EU - exit path to be determined

We lost America to a giant turd with hair

How ought Ireland align itself in the Geopolitical sense ?

These entities strike me as ones we may change relationships with:
USA
Russia
Ukraine + The Baltic Republics : Putin wants to invade
People's Republic of China
Canada
Austrailia
New Zealand
United Kingdom
EU
India
Brazil
Saudi Arabia: don't think Trump will be their ally so much
UAE: lots of funny money
Iran: Trump has high hopes for there
Israel

Taxation will be a big issue ...as indeed will be trade agreements and protectionism

Wonder with the Fall of the US ... will we get ever meeker on human rights globally ?

Aye, we're small and insignificant, if everyone stays absolutely still until the dusk settles and we can start figuring out WTF is going to happen next.

We should aim to friends with as many countries as possible. Brexit and Trumps victory doesn't change this.

If there is any entity that we should become less friendly towards it is the failure that is the EU.

Before you mouth about something, understand what term means.

"Fascism is the merger of corporate and political power" Benito Mussolini, founder of Fascism.

Now, cast your eyes on the machinations of the Clinton Foundation donors.

And consider the way that Soros likes to interfere in subverting the interests of the common people with his money and his donations.

The nEU empire is not our friend. It is our political master. And we need to become free.

As the self-proclaimed local representative of the Netherlands, we're willing to take you guys in as another constituent country of the Kingdom. Just imagine the fancy tax haven we could become if our parliaments actually worked together. It will be the Double Irish with a Dutch Sandwhich on steroids.

Trump and the UKIP/Tory Brexiters are kowtowing to the base of their electorates. Trump openly engaged in racist and sexist rhetoric. It is sad and pathetic after all we've been through that that sort of rhetoric would actually win support and not turn people away. Get off your high horse you fascist príck.

Ah, but they're mostly German at this point and the heir is even half Argentinian! Plus the nickname of the current monarch was once "prins pils" which roughly translated to "prince beer". So it ain't all bad and I'm sure those people can get used to that.

At least we won't have the vomit inducing scenes of idiots out on the street welcoming Hilary the war criminal.

We have a bad track record when it comes to welcoming war criminals.

Our Corporate tax bonanza of late would appear to be under threat but who knows, far too early to tell. Will Kenny be welcome at the White House on March 17th considering his comments about Trump? Just need to be smart about expanding our trade/diplomacy, and getting serious about promoting our own indigenous enterprises.

the future of ireland is Mid-atlantic. Speaking English - earning money off the services industry. Not freezing eastern europe, nor the parasitic bureaucracies of Western Europe in the EU, nor the refugee mess-up that is south-eastern europe.

Outside the EU, and in the Mid Atlantic.

Our corporation tax rate is facing stiff competition on two fronts. The UK is lowering its rate to 17 percent by 2020 and a strong likelihood that the US will lower its rate also. Plus any incentives/trade renegotiations that Trump implements to bring jobs home.

Nothing will really change, Trump just mouthed off what some people wanted to hear, not what he actually believed, the first proof is his attitude this morning to Hillary Clinton, yesterday he was sending her to jail today he was thanking her for her service to the nation which apparently owes her an enormous debt of gratitude.

Just look at the last 8 years, what really changed ? Yes we can, turned into nothing substantial really , he may be the "leader " of the free world, but the POTUS has f*ck all power to really change anything, Guantanamo is still open, American Soldiers are still in Iraq, the poor are still poor, US police still regularly shoot black males, democracy doesn't deliver massive change and US democracy is even more of a straight jacket on radical change.

But the UK will be outside of the EU, so their corporation tax could be zero and they still won't attract FDI that wants/needs a base in the EU.
