Mick Wallace's renamed party 'Independents 4 Change' name (previous Independent for Equality Movement) and logo now in register of political parties http://www.oireachtas.ie/parliament/media/main/documentation/Regisgter-of-Political-Parties-10-December-2015.pdf

Mick Wallace originally registered the party as Independent for Equality Movement and ran 4 candidate in the local election 2014, none of whom got elected, he then change the name of the party this September http://www.irisoifigiuil.ie/currentissues/IR250915.pdf

with Christopher Oonagh, his parliamentary assistant as one of the other authorised officers

i find it a strange name and logo, why is it the number 4? is only going to ever run 4 candidates? are there 4 principals his party is based on?

also now Clare Daly and Barry Martin have come out as both running in Dublin Fingal under this banner https://www.facebook.com/dalymartin2016/

she is still describing herself as an Independent (Socialist), yet has joined a registered political party
https://twitter.com/ClareDalyTD https://www.facebook.com/ClareDalyTD/

he might want to change his twitter/facebook handle https://www.facebook.com/barrymartinpbp and tell pbpb General Election Candidates – People Before Profit etc

I reckon I will vote for Daly again next time out if I am in the constituency. She has given me good value for my last vote.

I'm obviously a bit slow on the uptake on this chilly Sunday night but how can Independent TDs be in a registered party and still be independent?

as with AAA-PBP they'll probably say that they are using the rules as there are and that they are not suited to facilitate groups of Independents (although Ross chose not to register his Alliance as a party) but that still the mystery of Barry Martin not having said he's left the PBPA, what his history was he formal member of the SWP?

It's Mick Wallace we're talking about. A tax dodger who would call loudly for tax reform without blushing. No doubt he has strong views on workers' pension entitlements and taxes on holiday homes as well.

Yes I would imagine it is a banner more than anything else, like the AAA-PBP.

I don't think Barry Martin has left PBPA, although they may turf him out but I doubt it. Remember PBPA were happy to have Daly, Collins and others in an alliance it was the SP who prevented that.

To the best of my knowledge Barry Martin isn't nor has he been a member of the SWP.

None of which is defensible, however the people of Wexford will have the opportunity to vote on all those matters in about 6 weeks time.

Was Paul Murphy not a member of the Anti Austerity Alliance, Socialist Party, Stop the Water Tax Socialist Party when standing in the by-election?
