Ireland has avoided a military foreign policy independent of the UN - USA, France changing... should we also ?

Ireland does not have military foreign policy independent of the UN ... we require the Security Council to tell us what to do

However ... in WWII ... we benefitted from the Americans intervening in Europe ... and indeed ever since, the interventions of America and to an extent UK/France are things we have come to expect

Trump pretty much says he is an isolationist - and Putin can do what he wants. The next French President - is likely to be similar

Sinn Féin and the hard left have a major soft spot for Putin, even though he is a centre right fascist ... some bits of Fianna Gael do too ...mainly folks in the Fianna Fáil wing

Will change come ?
