Following the huge support for repealing the 8th amendment, the government is pressing ahead with provision of liberalised abortion services in Ireland and available by January next year.

One of the more interesting points under discussion is the establishment of "safe zones".
areas around premises where abortion services are provided where patients and staff can go without fear of intimidation or harassment, and without being subjected to posters or protests.
Sad that such things are needed, but given the antics of some of the anti-abortion campaigners I think it's very important that such provisions be included. It also signals that clearly a lot of thought is going into this.

Despite bringing this legislation to Cabinet, it can not be enacted until two applications to block the result of the referendum are dealt with in the courts. It is the Government’s intention to make this health service available in Ireland in January 2019.
It seems everyone is fairly confident these batshít cases won't succeed.

Actually, the safe zones are to stop abortophiles cheering and opening the bubbly as the victims arrive.

Safe Zones are a good idea - but the loons who protest abortion with their giant images of abortions don't just protest outside "abortion providers" - they also protest outside maternity hospitals. Its very upsetting for women who, for example, have had a miscarrage.

It would be ironic if maternity hospitals had to start providing abortions just so they could get 'safe zone' status.

I would imagine maternity hospitals will be providing abortion services, as they do in a restricted manner currently.

Basically a curtailment of freedom of expression. An example of how liberalism is capable of being illiberal.

Presumably this all depends on the current court case being disposed of quickly and the verdict being in accordance with the government's wishes?

Not only should abortions be free for the lower classes, they should be mandatory

Can we use all the discarded foetuses for animal feed?

You'd be pissed off if you went in to give birth and they gave you an abortion doctor by mistake

That's a very wide definition of assault you've got there.

Already got a bid in for wind-dried foetuses to be used as clay pigeons at the Tullybarna Olympics.

These fanatics won't give up easily. it may be necessary to ban Youth Defence, ICBR and the Iona Institute under the Offences Against The State Act and try them in the Special Criminal Courts. The CAB should go after their assets.

We don't have freedom of expression in this country and anyone who would go to an abortion clinic to protest and shout abuse is an absolute c unt whose mother would have made the world a better place had she aborted them.

Are you suggesting I should sue the HSE?
Your current number of posts is 19 which is also likely your IQ so it's probably for the best if you are made a ward of court and a case taken on your behalf.
