Immigrants spending on rents, too many immigrants competing for accomodation which is in short supply for Irish people pushes rents up above what they should be fir the wages people are getting, not good.

Immigrants send a lot of their money home, are as tight as a ducks are and there are too many,
The population should grow organically so that we can future plan, what we have is a massive
Influx of labour to benefit the top of society and which consequently impacts the less well off,

You cannot compare the us and Canada to Ireland vastly different economies of scale.
Having said that wages in real terms for the middle class in America have hardly risen in decades
That's what immigration has done to the middle class /lower class. In the US
Accelerated automation of factory jobs due to digitisation and the internet is the main reason for lack of pay increases in the USA. Other reasons are competition from imports which has the benefit of lowering the cost of living, and inadequate education and skills of about half to two thirds of the workforce.

As for immigrant remittances to the home countries, these tend to fall off over time.

As for immigration's pressure on housing and schools, the high percentage of construction trades among immigrants would quickly help build additional capacity if only the Irish government would cut the planning permission red tape designed to please NIMBY home owners with a high voter turnout. In the Celtic Tiger boom, immigrant construction workers were a high percentage of the construction workforce.
