At least they weren't shot in the back of the head this time by the Israeli murder gang - maybe because they were Jewish?

No, no...... it is because they hadn't taken an angle grinder to the ship's rails in order to build up a stock of offensive weapons. Has it ever occurred to you that the only casualties in that flotilla were on a ship laden with jihadists ?

IDF used excessive force boarding Irene - Haaretz

Israel Defense Forces soldiers used excessive force while taking over a Gaza-bound aid ship organized by Jewish and Israeli activists, the boat's passengers said Tuesday, countering the military's official version claiming that the takeover had been uneventful.

Earlier Tuesday the IDF reported that Israeli naval commandos peacefully boarded the Jewish aid boat attempting to break a naval blockade on Gaza, saying "IDF naval forces recently boarded the yacht 'Irene', and it is currently being led to the Ashdod seaport along with its passengers."

However, testimonies by passengers who were released from police questioning later in the day seemed to counter the IDF's claims, with Israeli activist and former Israel Air Force pilot Yonatan Shapira saying that there were "no words to describe what we went through during the takeover."

Israeli 'Irene' passenger: The IDF were violent on board

Yet on all the MSM outlets here and stateside it was billed as a peaceful takeover. No lives were lost but should the International community now look again at the IDF and call for further/deeper inquiries?

No . They should wipe them off the face of the earth . No more inquiries .

:D:D

Im only joking . Of course they should have inquiries/investigations. That really makes a big difference to Israel . Like my 'dont buy jaffa cakes' campaign makes a difference .

What do you mean you havent heard of it ?

Some of us have to work late hours, when we can get work. ;)

Just browsed the MSM outlets when I got in and was, at first, relieved to see a non-violent takeover. Then I read the two reports in the OP.

What are more inquiries going to do at this stage?
Everyone knows what Israel does and have come to their own conclusions by now. It is a largely irrelevant state and every country could cut dealings with them in the morning and not notice any difference which is a likely outcome to the eventual US soviet style collapse.
Big brother won't be around to defend them forever.

Adopting the heavy-handed approach serves many purposes:

Retribution for things such as rocket attacks
Deterrence against future such "flotillas"
Public denunciation of Palestinian sympathisers
Incapacitation of Palestinian soldiers and therefore the implicit protection of Israel

OK , fair enough (ahem). But at what cost to Israels reputation as a 'reasonable' and 'democratic' country ? Why does Israel chose to 'alienate' its friends in the west ? Why do they do such unnecesssary and provocative things , at crucial times ?

Maybe they should just hang a placard around their necks, write "I am a Palestinian sympathiser' on it and parade them through town? You know, like in the Cultural Revolution? I didn't know it was the norm in supposed 'liberal democracies' to make a practice of 'denouncing' those who dissent from the party line.
