IRSP Repond to Report on John Brady's death in PSNI custody
Press Release
27.10.10
IRSP spokesperson Michael McLaughlin has echoed concerns by the Brady family and the wider Republican community that the Police Ombudsman’s report into John Brady’s death in Strand Road PSNI station would be another example of British injustice in Ireland have been vindicated.
Mr McLaughlin stated; “As expected the ombudsman’s report has fallen short of any type of real recommendations or truth. Instead the Brady family were presented with a farcical document that shed little light on the events that took place in the consultation room in the Strand Road PSNI barracks on the 3rd of October 2009. The circumstances surrounding John Brady’s death will not be ignored by the IRSP or the wider Republican community as this tragic event epitomises the flaws in the current policing system in occupied Ireland.

Are you asking me if I disagree with your approval of what I said regarding Ireland being occupied ?

Careful now.

From what I've read of IRSP policy, they regard the gardai as quite similar to theRUC/PSNI, ie., as a force of repression against working class people and that acts as an organ of the state in the interests of the elites in that state.

We can a fine example of this in Ireland today, where not 1 banker has been put in jail during the economic crisis, but just take a look at the way gardai treat people in working class areas, shell protesters etc. I myself attended a talk by Bertie Ahern 2 years ago, there was roughly 20 uniformed gardai and more special branch on top of that. The guy should be locked up, not wasting more of taxpayers money talking rubbish. I'd be happy to pay my part for his upkeep in jail :D

RIP John Brady, from what I can gather, he was an exceptional volunteer, dedicated to the movement and the true tenants of republicanism, not bowing down to the constitutional nationalist/reformist politics of Sinn Fein and the Provos who now administer British rule in Ireland for an ample fee.

For those who condemn and mock him, I doubt any of you could hold a torch to the bravery and sheer balls this man had, engaging the forces of occupation, serving lengthy sentence as a POW in British jails, refusing to be bought, a true son of Eireann, in the same vain as Pearse, Clarke or Connolly.

YouTube - John Brady RIP

"He captured Harper's ferry with his 19 men so few, and frightened old Virginy till she trembled through and through..."

I see you have been reading up on our Civil war history in the States.

This painting was done by an Irishman Thomas Hovenden from Cork. he was an Orphan. His parents died during the famine, and he came to the States.

Welll here is "John Brown's final moments before being hung.

He was a hero to the abolitionist and Union.
