Donald Trump has been elected President of America.
One of his main manifestos is to deport all illegal immigrants with criminal history.

An estimated 50,000 unauthorized Irish people are in the U.S. today.
There's no doubt some percentage of them have a criminal records. Maybe as many as 1 in 5 has criminal records.

Are we ready for their arrival?

Don't go spreading alarm and despondency.

The Yanks can only deport those who get caught, and most of those Undocumented are too sly for that.

Ireland will be required to accept responsibility for the behaviour of Irish people.

The "ah, shurr...let's pretend there is no problem" is no longer going to be accepted.

Meehaul Martin will go ape.

Perhaps you might assuage my doubt (about your stat) by providing a link to a study into the criminal history of illegal Irish immigrants in the USofA?

I reckon they will get caught, and will show up in Shannon.

Yeah, the numbers Trump gave were first 11 million illegal immigrants, but then he went down to only 2 million of them with criminal records (so 1 in 5). There may be different proportions for Irish but we don't know that. It's a rough estimate.

If they are unauthorised they are breaking the law which surely means they are all criminals?

And if you got a speeding ticket that makes you a criminal as well , wise up
Just saying what Trump is saying, no interpretation, deport 2 million of 11 million illegal immigrants from the country, so 1 in 5 and there's 50,000 unauthorized Irish in America.

They do in the TV dramas, but real life is very different.
The US could not function without its illegals , we may see a bit more of a clamp down just for the tv and to make trump look less of a clown , but as with 99.9% of his promises nothing will change , not because he does not want to but because he wont be let . Welcome to reality reality Donald

Fantastic. Returning Irish migrants who had enough cop to leave to better themselves instead of propping up the bookies in their village will only increase the intelligence of the Irish electorate. A reverse brain drain is a positive. More of same please.
