Ireland is a fantastic and successful nation compared to the rest of the world.

Yet all we hear on pie and in the Irish media is moans and whinging all day long and everyday. According to the misery doomsters we have a crisis at all times in almost every aspect of our national life.
Are the Irish world leaders at whinging or is it like this in other nations too?

Look - Fintan O'Toole has promised to boycott Newstalk, so that should reduce the background whinge significantly.

Certainly not. Until the 2008 crisis there were complaints that we never protested. Polls also show us one of the happiest nations. However there is a difference between personal happiness and political happiness.

Nah, its the cultural cringe again. No one whinges like a Brit. They would moan over a packet of frozen peas.

The Irish do hysteria. With intervals for refreshments.

Not while the US is led by the Arch-Whinger Donald Trump.

one of Ireland's leading politics and current affairs discussion websites with more than 600,000 visitors a month. Founded in 2003, Politics.ie has one of the most engaged, respected and influential politics and current affairs communities.

That's a big downgrade from 7 years ago:

"Politics.ie is Ireland's leading politics and current affairs website with more than 900,000 visitors a month"

There are to many media outlets in the country, all competing with each other. Years ago good journalism attracted readers or listeners.
But now a days headlines is what get the punters attention. Plus the jurno collages are pumping out cut and paste lightweights.
The days of the hard drinking hack learning his trade in a newsroom like Vinny Browne are gone.

Exactly, the former is achievable, the latter a figment of a wild imagination.
