Is Micheál Martin anti American, given his attacks on Donald Trump.

It's certainly a dramatic change from the very deferential approach towards the US of the government he was a part of. And that was during a US administration that launched a war of aggression in Iraq that may have resulted in 1 million deaths.

It may be that some of our politicians feel - particularly given EU support for Ireland over the backstop -that we can get away with more on the international stage than in the past because of a risky assumption the EU trade power will protect us from US economic punishment. Its a bit risky if you ask me.

Why does'nt M.Martin spend more time looking out for his homeland of Cork and Munster than commenting about Trump and the USA?

" in August you're down in west Cork
you're on a beach in Dunworly
you've had a great swim
you get up to Butlerstown
There's a beautiful pub in Butlerstown called Mary O'Neills
it's gorgeous
Lovely field in front, crop growing, sunset blue sky
You're drinking a pint of Murphys
That's heaven "

I don't like Mr Trump, he is just a mouthpiece. I don't like his Middle East policy and his Enviromental ones. That said, he owns a golf course in Doonbeg. What connection, if any, has Micheál Martin to America?
