Iraq violence: Did IS use new type of bomb for deadliest attack? - BBC News

On 3 July, 292 Iraqis lost their lives.

In a crowded street in Baghdad's Karrada neighborhood, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) was detonated after midnight, causing nearby dwellings to be engulfed in flames.

Many residents were trapped inside the inferno and burned to death — it was estimated that merely 20 to 30 people had perished from the initial explosion.

Explosive experts explained to the BBC that the chemical composition was unique and that it was difficult to make.

“We are used to big fires but the chemicals in this bomb were used for the first time in Iraq,” said Brigadier General Kadhim Bashir Saleh of the Civil Defense Force. “It was unique, strange, and terrible.”

Other unnamed experts told the BBC that the blast itself was "as hot as the surface of the sun".

Investigators believe that the bomb makers, who most likely assembled the explosives in nearby Fallujah, took an Internet-available formula and adjusted it to increase its volatility. The adjustments also made the bomb more difficult for Iraqi security forces to detect before the detonation.
Could this find its way to EUROPE based on the part in bold .. Difficult to detect before detonation? Is this a horrible roadtest of a new hard to detect bomb with the intention to use in Europe?

Outside of these questions it is indeed unique, strange, and terrible. SKY NEWS did a show in last few months about ISIS and their labs where they are developing new pretty terrifying things and weapons. Driverless cars with real life dummies packed with explosives and the like. Hi tech stuff for a terror outfit. Is this bomb a product of this? And has it just come out of beta?

The attacks we have seen thus far are nothing compared to what is coming.

For example, ISIS and various (there are too many to count!) Islamic terror groups are actively looking for radioactive material to make 'dirty bombs'. This this not mean nuclear warheads etc., but something much more crude. However a dirty bomb could render a town or even city uninhabitable.

Doubtful.

Has ISIS used IED-style bombs in Europe to date?

They seem to enjoy killing lots of people using bombs in Iraq and Syria. So far other methods have been used in Europe.

The cowards and appeasers on the left mean eventually, the right will have to clean up this mess.

Obama, Hollande, British liberals, German Greens, the EU???
They were the ones behind the arming of Syrian rebels.
The liberals on this site are fu*king clowns, they are like little children.

ISIS bombers are still on a steep learning curve with their car bombs. They can muster up a few lorries filled with Co-Op mix and drive it into a checkpoint with a willing martyr to detonate it. Once they get to grips with mixing military explosives with remote detonation systems, the Russians and Yanks will have to really take them out.
Until then, hope and pray that they haven't mastered these techniques yet and sent them westward.
There won't be any 30 min warnings if they have.

The bombs used in Brussels and Paris were TATP based, can be made with readily available chemicals (e.g. nail varnish remover and toilet cleaner...admittedly in large quantities), and non Nitrate based so they are not picked up with standard chemical sniffers. Highly unstable but extremely powerful.

Bush and Blairs involvement in Iraq triggered most of it .
Jimmy Carter began funding the mujahideen in Afghanistan.

Right and left politics have little between them when it comes to their interests, be it the Brits, Americans or French.

God help all those people burned to death. What a terrible way to die.
