Good riddance is correct, good riddance to ever filling up your home heating oil tank again for less than €5000. (maybe you’ll get 1000 litres for that)

The Arab countries will scream blue murder, but the governments of these Arab countries will be secretly delighted. The rise of Iranian influence throughout the Middle East is resented by all the Arab leaders.

But surely you realise there would be wider repercussions in the general region ?

Indeed the fact that Iran isn't an Arab country and tries to influence what goes on in those countries is a major thorn in the side of some countries (esp. KSA).

Yes. If the Persian Gulf if closed down this would cause oil
prices to skyrocket. Anyway this is exactly what the powers
that be want in the long run. They control energy means they
control YOU! The third world war is against YOU the individual.

One set of air strikes that do not in any way affect oil is going to cause an oil price spike? my my, they really will use ANY excuse to push those prices up wont they?

The window really is between begining of September and the end of October.

I think Israel will go it alone but the US forces might well get sucked in too.

November is too late in the year IMO.

Of course the IDF could go in tonight for all anyone else knows ...

and we won't know, they wont' do this America style, months and months of rhetoric and build up, pretending they care about what the UN Security Council thinks, they'll just go in, do it, and leave, if were lucky we will get a one line press relase noting they bombed Iran, not unlike a memo asking the office manager to buy more stamps, more of a "by the way we bombed Iran...and no we don't care what you think".

Of course they have, they have mobile "sunburn" platforms and they will use them to take out ships in the Strait of Hurmuz.

Which would mean certain war with the USA.

Whether the Iranian leadership think that is something to Iran's advantage is doubtful.

Either way it would send the price of oil shooting upwards to unprecented levels and be a huge international crises.

SS-N-22 Sunburn missiles supplied from Russia
could sink an U.S. carrier thus closing down the gulf.

If a Gannet farted in the Persian Gulf it would drive the price of oil through the roof.

A couple of hundred of these is all it would take.

That's why the US has Aegis capabilities and smaller missile defence ships around the carrier groups.
Furthermore, in the event of war, those missiles would be target number one for Western coalition forces.
Sea mines? Come off it, the second they lay one mine, they're getting a torpedo/missile in the arse.
