Two bombs in Istanbul have killed 29 people with a further 155 people wounded, 19 of them were in intensive care. A car bomb blew up outside the stadium of Besiktas after a football match. Less than a minute later a suicide bomber blew up at a nearby park in the midst of police officers. The two bombings killed 27 police officers and 2 civilians and the timing suggests that maximum casualties was the aim. Two bombings in June and August claimed the lives of 47 and 57 people respectively, at Ataturk Airport and at a Kurdish wedding Gaziantep, both blamed on IS. Turkey is still dealing with the failed coup in July. Clearly the extremists are on the loose and it would seem that Ataturk's visions for Turkey is under greater threat than ever, including from Erdogan.

Why can't people just get on? All this killing and bombing and anger-it's terrible.

Yet another reason not to have them in the EU in any way, shape, or form.

Other sources have the death toll at 38, with 30 police officers dead.

Reports also of at least 25 killed outside a Cathedral at Cairo, sad to say it's all too common and all too familiar.

Erdogan routinely blames Kurds for everything - so let's wait and see.

The Kurds are being blamed by Erdogan.

But does not mean that they were responsible.

In the name Kurdish separatism in all probability.
A convenient piece of propaganda put forward by the Turkish government yeah.

If the Kurds really want to Erdogan, they would have called him after a character from Lord of the Rings.

Bombing Istanbul merely gives Erdogan an excuse to shoot at them.

It also drives away outsiders.

I suspect Al Qaeda are sending Erdogan a message not to do a deal with Al CIAda's enemy in Syria, President Assad.
