Nice to see Bill O'Herlihy being gainfully employed again at the age of 74. What exactly are his qualifications for this job?

O

It seems that people no longer retire from RTE. Look at Byrne, Murphy, and now O'Herlihy. It really is a job for life

Well known FG supporter and former FG government spin doctor appointed to quango by FG led goverment? Well I never!! this must be that new politics of which they speak. New, in that they're our lads and not their lads I suppose.

I presume this position was advertised and it was an open competition. I'm sure Bill got it on merit, it would have nothing to do with his connections to FG.

Shouldn't 74 year old Bill, and Fine("We will end Cronyism") Gael be highly embarrassed by this appointment?

It started with Dicey Reilly bumping up new government spending on sites own by people who appeared in photos beside him at fundraisers....and it continued with France Fitzgerald welcoming the generous lotto spend in her constituency....only bested by the lotto spend in the Taoiseach's constituency....followed by one of Plump bunny's constituency organizers being appointed to the quango responsible for maps.

The institutional state is turning rotten with all of these old farts taking "positions" that involved SFA work, while the young people despair.

just wondering....but what is the current unemployment rate for arts degree graduates fresh out of college ? meanwhile old bores like Herlihy get to stick their snout in yet another taxpayer funded trough.

This crap is going to have to end soon.

Well with this cold weather, Hell risks freezing over. Flying pigs however, that's another story.
