Jobs loss in northern Ireland.

It appears to me that their has been a big increase in the number of manufacturing jobs being lost in Northern Ireland since the UK announced it was leaving the EU.

Michel Barnier has made the case for Northern Ireland remaining in the European Union customs union after Britain leaves the EU. I think this would provide an excellent opportunity to turn around the Northern Ireland ecconomy by providing the local economy with a unique selling point for inward investment.

What I would like to know is why the hell does the dup take such a daft position on the issue?

There are a lot of reasons that manufacturing jobs are being lost, you assert it is since brexit, it could be since Trump was elected, it could be since toblerones were made smaller, it could be that overall jobs are not being lost, you have supplied no evidence of jobs being lost or the reason for them.
Have you any figures for jobs over other past ten years?

Northern Ireland risks losing a generation of young people to emigration as they may be put off by the failure of powersharing and a growing number of job losses, a business leader has told a major industry event.

With the Torys / DUP wanting Brexit here without the people’s consent in the six and with the DUP running away from the talks process is it any wonder that that combined Unionist panic has caused employers etc to run a mile- Brexiters and stupid Unionists are costing us a jobs market-

Why would anyone in their right minds invest in a deeply divided so called kingdom, especially one which is leaving the biggest market for them next door on mainland Europe?

NE Ireland will escape a lot of the hardship to come through UNIFICATION and remaining in the EU.....all pure common sense folks.

The UK economy as a whole is now lagging behind EUrope because of Brexit. You're clearly not reading the papers and you're in total denial. Even the UK government's own forecasts are predicting a long term decline. Take off your blinkers.

Loads of surmising and not one piece of evidence that job losses in manufacturing are caused by brexit.
What has caused the decline in France? In 2015, it fell at a higher rate that Greece?

What has happened in the 20 months since the referendum is what is relevant. The world economy is starting to boom again. If you doubt the official figures, consider this: I got 1000 litres of kerosene yesterday and was shocked to pay the highest price for it since the economic collapse towards the end of the last decade when demand for it steeply declined - there wasn't much change out of 500 quid.
World demand for oil is rocketing again, (which of course could put the Scottish independence drive back on the agenda again, but that's another story). That demand is not driving the British economy forward very perceptibly though.
Meanwhile the UK is now the worst performing economy in the advanced world.

No credible company would invest in a false statelet riddled with sectarian bigots who deny equality rights, to half of the citizens who reside there....end of.

No point in long boring texts, paragraphs and links, I condensed it all in my one sentence above.
