Will the result of this case have any influence on the other trials to come?

Complete and utter waste of time and resources....and it was pretty obvious from the start that this was just to try and discredit Paul Murphy and co.

No supporter of Murphy, but delighted with the outcome.

The whole trial was a farce from the start and a waste of state resources. It does underline the ongoing public distrust in AGS and Fine Gael/labour's detachment and contempt for public opinion.
It was a manifestly political prosecution.

The jury saw that and voted accordingly.

Only a truly ignorant fool oblivious to all Irish history would have pushed this.

That fool is Joan Burton .

Her political party ,the irish Labour party , also bears a portion of the responsibility for this abuse of the judicial process,

They will all be punished accordingly and rightly in the coming elections.

This is a bad result for our democracy. It'll been seen as an open invitation for the hard left to take their agenda to the streets, to intimidate and bully those who disagree with them. We'll regret the day yet..

As for video evidence outweighing Gardai evidence, I am far from convinced. The camera can deceive depending on viewpoint, shot selection and editing.

Jobstown defendants are currently walking out the door of the CCJ as free men.

'Labour guilty - Jobstown innocent' is the chant

Video evidence was accepted in Garda evidence against those allegedly involved in the riots at the British Embassy during the 1981 Hunger Strike marches, you can't have it both ways.

The first thread was about the on-going trial and this one is commentary on the failure of the dark side to frame people.
Indeed we sure do need to have that discussion. And I entirely think you are correct about framing people. Which is pretty sad if one things about it in a supposedly modern democracy.

Joan Burton pursued a political vendetta via the courts against her political opponents.

It has backfired as everybody predicted.

The Irish Labour partys decline is hastened by this result of a sensible Irish jury .

The Gardaí as usual "building" a case. In the old days, their statements would have been easily enough to convict here. The force doesn't quite seem up to speed yet and able to cope with all this new-fangled and modern video and phone technology! :)
