Over the next couple of months there will be widespread reporting of the trial of Jobstown defendants accused of false imprisoning Joan Burton and her assistant.

Since the protest took place the political establishment and the media have engaged in a campaign of demonsiation of the Jobstown protest and the entire community.

In response the Jobstown Not Guilty Campaign have produced a documentary about the events of that day and how the protest has been portrayed in the media.

The documentary will be officially launched at the Assembly for Justice which will take place in Liberty Hall on 1 April - an Assembly that will be addressed Paddy Hill of the Birmingham Six, Eamon Dunphy and Frances Black among others.

This is the trailer for the documentary

Can we at least wait for the trial before condemning it as a travesty of justice?

He wont be the first or last Politician to use the great unwashed to further their career. The difference with Murphy is he has at least helped in the halting of the privatization of our great water resources.

Hopefully you have the same attitudes towards the vested Political interests, who wasted hundreds of millions of taxpayers cash in their efforts to privatise our great water resources.

The evidence given to the Court is that the Minister was deliberately trapped in her car for 2 and a half hours by the rioters - hopefully more convictions will follow.
And its wrong to identify the rioters as all being from Jobstown - most of them were middle class careerists from much better off areas.
Its hard enough for the decent people of Jobstown to overcome the stigma of that area but to have the hard left trying to depict them all as looney left.

Statist scare tactics at their most obvious. Makes me want to go and properly imprison a minister just for the craic.

I feel sick every time phony Joan opens her mouth.
She sold us all out and why the mejia keep trotting her out and why anybody would be stupid enough to vote for her is beyond me.
These protesters should be awarded medals for keeping her away from the organs of power and everyone who put her there should be arrested.

OOO challenge the hegemony of FF/FG/LAB and we will ruin your life, classy.

How dare the people protest near Queen Joan? Out of the way riff raff! With Gardai as footmen - and smearing whistleblowers is just a small matter, as is using your Garda contacts to smear political opponents, but just you dare raise your voice or move your prole body near the royal carriage...

Ah would ye listen to yerself...Turning this into a class-war is just what that socialist trot paul murphy wants,he is manipulative and has duped the vunerable,on the dole ,and the working classes to vote for him, and the AA/pbp or whatever, they are a protest vote, they are experts in courting the media, optics and stirring it up,if they did any real work, they might not be in the public eye so much ,they are like those z list socialites who constantly crave the limelight.....If any of these lads got criminal records, for crowding around JB's car,i can tell you paul murphy would BURY that story, and be on his way up to a free seat in the dail, which is all he is after, don't be fooled by him this trot, will end up a fat-socialist like labourites, and if you look across the water to the UK - all these socialist morons invariably will trade out the irish working class for cheap easy labour, watch zero hours become more popular with this lot,yet they are all about the unions etc, they are full of baloney! And if you cannot see through them,i can't help ya...:)

Suppresssion ? Jaysus, speak to some of our east European friends if you want to know what it really is.
I am not concerned with our East European "friends". I am concerned with my own country and this is suppression in an Irish context.
