Sad to hear of the death of JT McNamara.

He was paralysed after fall at Cheltenham in 2013 and was just 41.

The bravery of jockeys puts all others in the shade.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

yes - he appeared to have been a good guy.
& the tributes of his colleagues that I heard on TV, appeared to be very sincere.

agus mar a dúirt tú féin -

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

I would just like to add my voice to the long list of people to say RIP to JT McNamara on his untimely passing, a truly great amateur jockey and does remind you of the risk jockeys make every time they race.

Here are some of his career highlights :
2002 Cheltenham National Hunt Chase - Rith Dubh
2005 Cross Country Handicap Chase - Spot Thedifference
2007 Foxhunter Chase - Drombeag
2012 Cheltenham National Hunt Chase Teaforthree
Over 600 career victories
He was praised for being a great horseman and his resilience and determination were top drawer.

He was paralysed after a fall from Galaxy Rock at the 2013 Cheltenham Festival in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup and hoped to pursue a training career.
