It seems, according to the Independent anyway, that Enda Kenny is to take a more hands on role in both the health and welfare departments.

TAOISEACH Enda Kenny is taking personal charge of pushing through reforms in both Health and Social Protection.

Mr Kenny is ramping up pressure on the two most divisive ministers in Cabinet, Social Protection Minister Joan Burton and Health Minister James Reilly, by taking a hands-on approach to slow-moving reforms being undertaken in their departments.
Kenny to take over reform at Welfare and Health - Independent.ie

Whatever about the rights and wrongs of this managerial technique, what is the Minister for reform doing ? Isn't Howlin supposed to be keeping on top of reform across all departments ?

Is this a good thing or a bad thing ?

Will Labour take this vote of no confidence in Burton lying down? Probably.

Kenny's "chairman" of the board image is in tatters - he's proving to be a very poor leader but on the other side can't be expected to manage more than two portfolios anyway.

His team is dysfunctional - even the FG members like Reilly and Hogan are making it impossible to be a "leader", not to mention the politically opposite Burton and Howlin sniping from across the Labour divide.

He may as well take over Justice from Lazybones as well, while he is at it.

He seems to want to do three people's jobs here.

Reilly's, Burton'e and Howlin's. Surely if they're not performing they should be given gate. I wonder is this just a preamble to a shuffle?

If a shuffle is on the cards as many think, this could be Kenny and his PR ( alright, just his PR ) trying to get him to come across as a 'get things done' kinda manager.... when in actual fact this just makes him look like a 'can't get anyone to do anything' kinda manager.

He still has the five-a-side team on the go too, the one he told to disband....

Talk about clowns. Who filmed that mess?
Fionnan Sheehan, he wrote the article in the OP too.... didn't realise he was travelling/following with the Taoiseach to the US. I wonder was there any expat 'businessmen' there too....

In other news, Enda Kenny today walked on water. As a consequence, "Emulator" has set up a thread on politics.ie, giving out that Enda Kenny can't swim.

You'd do well to go back to the avatar showing your backside because you spend no end of time talking through your backside on here!

I think the article a bit of an over-reaction. Presumably someone, Enda even, had a word with Fionann about matters, privately, and the gist was that Kenny was going to give a few of them a kick up the hole. This translates, in Indo headlines, into Enda taking over the two departments reform element, which he clearly has not the time to do, not to mind anything else.

Jeez, what's with all the names on the hard hats? Worried that they wouldn't be recognised?

Frank Sinatra this loser ain't. :) Then again FG elected a "chairman of the board" who is as thick as two short planks. Unfortunately, the two short planks are from Labour and they don't work.
