In the wake of the Trump clusterfúck, it's good to see that our Irish politicians are actually prepared to stand up for what's right every once in a while.

Ireland playing

Cabinet to discuss US preclearance in Ireland

And it's been going on for a while.

Enda Kenny changes course, calls Trump

Compared to the poodle next door, I think out politicos deserve a bit of praise for standing up to the Orange Bollix. Just this once.
Kenny needs to cancel the paddy's day event. Let him go meet Congress or the New York Mayor instead.

Who gave the right to Irish politicians to say that the Irish People do not agree with President Trump's measures to protect the security of the United States of America? Were the Irish People asked? If so, when?

I'm not sure that I agree. He needs to attend and politely tell the Dayglo Don to fúck right off.

They were elected to govern by the lights of our constitution and statutes. That's what they are doing.

"Sticks finger up, which way is the wind blowing?"

Stats, not sure that Enda can think for himself at all. He allows Noonie to kiss trumps ass with Dancing Gurls too...

The Pre-clearance will remain, it brings thousands of passengers through Dublin each year. Each person leaving a little behind them.

Not a fan of Trump at all. Think the man has really screwed up in relation to this Ban, ill-thoughout and ill-implemented.

What the americans have as their internal policy is for them to decide, just like the Irish policies are for the irish to decide.
And what about dual Irish citizens who are now unilaterally excluded from the US-Ireland visa waiver program? What about the 150,000 Israeli citizens, jews, who are banned from travel to the US? Do you actually think this makes the US safer?

Part of the concern is that preclearance is performed on Irish soil. We have the right to make sure that we are not breaking our international commitments re human rights etc.

Do you have it more dramatic? It's for 90 days, get over.

Not when they carry them out on our soil.

Hang on a second. Fianna Fail, through the medium of Willie O'Dea some time back, told us that objecting to the passage of military men and equipment through Shannon could cause job losses in Ireland. Surely, snubbing the country's president would result in a terrible retribution financially at least, especially given that the president is such a Snowflake he takes umbrage at everything.

Also, in light of the fact FF are really puppeteering the country, Enda probably won't be making the decision himself anyway. Mehole the great survivor will. And, we the people are going gung ho for FF now too, soaring in the polls they are, so that would have to be democracy in action.

The politicians of this country failed to give us the government the people voted for and all this pussyfooting over a bowl of shamrock is only theatre when compared to running the country properly and therefore no more than a distraction.

Trump has been in office for just over a week FFS...

St. Patrick's weekend is nearly 2 months away...

Calm down and see what happens instead of going hysterical...

Americans who hate Trump (and there's growing numbers of them) are not going to thank the world if it turns its back on them.

As for the US INS and Customs preclearance services in Dublin and Shannon... they've been there for decades... it would be really very f***ing stupid imo... for anyone to get hysterical about that or to call for them to be closed down...

It will solve nothing and will simply mean those who are affected and/or turned away will be affected/turned away Stateside as opposed to wherever these facilities are in operation...

Plus Trump will not be in the White House forever... and if he keeps going the way he's going... well... you never know how long he'll last...

Zappone is an American citizen. It's no skin off her nose if the US makes it more difficult for Irish to travel there.
