An article in Donegal Daily showing a mind-change by the Labour Mayor of Donegal (Frank Mc Brearty) who voted against letting the Mayor travel to the States for St. Patrick's Day three years ago but who is now happy enough to go himself (with three others) at our expense.

GOING TO THE BIG APPLE! MAYOR TO VISIT NEW YORK ON ST PATRICK’S DAY | Donegal Daily

The Labour Party must have special training courses on mind-changing, trough snouting for all their elected reps.

I'm surprised to find he has a mind to change after his by-election performance.

Another reason for people to stop supporting the Labour Party.

Ah yes the annual St Patricks Day whingefest...it must be that time of the year again

I have no problem with politicians heading to USA, Australia, UK, Asia, anywhere in fact for this "festival"
We need to develop, protect, encourage the goodwill and influence that this festival gives us, there are other states that would pay a fortune for the doors that this festival opens for us abroad.
Let the Mayor and his officials travel with a few conditions. they travel economy, reasonable accommodation standards, vouched expences and, most importantly of all, present a report to the council and the press outlining the achievements of their trip.

When Barak Obama was elected president their was considerable jostling between Angela Merkel and Sarkosy as to who would be the first European leader to be invited to the White House, guess who was the first European leader to meet Obama at the White House.........our Taoiseach.

I am in favour of sending him to NY.

But we should not be paying to have him returned. Leave him over there.

I think it's quite clear at this stage that the labour party are anti worker and pro welfare, both social and high paid.

Perhaps an IQ test for travelling politicians might save the country a few bob.

He'll meet more Donegal people out there than in Tír Conail.

In fairness McBrearty is the biggest clown in Labour. Most Labour people are embarrassed by him.
